Yep. Seriously though, in light of 9-11, I thought there were no exceptions--charter flight or no charter flight.

hell, on my flight to Los Angeles a few weeks back, they told those of us in regular class we couldn't walk to the front to take a leak in the first class bathroom due to airline security rules. How did Bill get to the front?

Preferential treatment I swear. Not like my four year old son could have said hi to the pilots.

Parcells Speaks

Former Cowboys coach Bill Parcells hasn't been exactly all over the media since he took over as the Dolphins VP of football operations, but he recently kept up with his M.O. of "If you're big, I'll talk to you."

Parcells always made time for 60 Minutes as well as some of his favorite New York outlets, and this time he sits down to talk to HBO Real Sports and reporter Andrea Kremer. The piece is scheduled to air on Tuesday evening.

There is nothing earth shattering in the piece, but he remains a unique story, mostly because he seldom talks on the record any more.

Kremer asked him if it bothers him that he hasn't won a Super Bowl since 1991.
Parcells said: "That's the way it is. I'm not changing history. I haven't won a Super Bowl since '91. That's right."

She then asked if it grates on him.

"Well, for a guy like me who's, that's how he's now judged, it bothers me that we haven't been able to win. But that's the way it is," he said.

Parcells has been an easy target for Cowboys fans since he left the after the 2006 season. He is not an easy man, and his ego sets himself for complete failure if his team doesn't win the Super Bowl.

There is no way around it that his four-year tenure here was a huge disappointment. The Cowboys only won 10 games once, never hosted a postseason game, and were 0-3 in the playoffs.

But there is no doubt this team is far better off having had him put some things in place.

Bill Parcells will be on HBO's Real Sports Tuesday (9 p.m.) and not long after the heartbreaking playoff loss to Seattle did he know he coached his last game.

Here's an excerpt: "We'd just lost to Seattle and I'm flying back. I'm sitting up with the pilots, you know, I have a little fear of flying so I ride up in the cockpit. And I said, 'This is probably going to be my last trip.' And you just know. You don't want to go through the whole process again, to get to right where we were. You know? And all you got to do is attack your opponents weakness(the secondary)the most elementary rules of coaching , and then you just don't do it. And so I don't want to go through that process again. Too much blood."

Parcells also said he's not sure where he will watch games this year, but he said he won't be calling down to the sidelines during games to Tony Sparano.

If that is true, I'm glad he left when he did.

Thanks Bill for making us respectable again, enough 5 and 11s already. You gave us youth to build on. Now we just need to finish the job.

I really enjoyed his press conferences. Man, what a showman/ham. :D

Glad he left when he did, if he lost the desire and/or heart, then we're all better off.

Even if the FG would have been made, I still had a feeling that the Seahawks would have just marched right back and kicked a game winning FG.

Before any of that, Jason Witten had the first down! We would've scored a TD easy. Couple that with the shiny ball and what a nightmare Seattle turned out to be.

that sums up Tuna's failure here.

he didn't grasp with ~1:10 on the clock Josh Brown would be in FG position within 2 plays with time to spare to make it to PAT range against Tuna's trademark "play scared" soft D.

thankfully he's miami's problem now :)

Understand Romo already said months ago that he felt to blame for forcing Parcells into retirement. However, Parcells stayed around VR even after his announced retirement to talk to Romo cause he knew how badly Romo felt.

Frankly I've always felt that Parcells can't escape some responsibility for what happened. No other starting QB in the NFL also serves as the FG holder; the starting QB (particularly a new one like Romo) should have been on the sidelines talking to Parcells & others about what our offense should be doing next. But Parcells didn't have the balls to tell Bledsoe (or Crayton) he'd should take over holder responsibilities once Romo was obviously going to remain our starter. Appreciate Parcells loyalty to his older players, but he had a greater loyalty to the Cowboy team and it's newly starting QB.
Maybe he should have been on the sidelines. But I can also see why you would not want to change the kicking line up you have had all season long.

I still cannot tell how the refs had definitive proof to move Witten back enough to make it 4th down.

There is a silver lining to it IMO.

He helped get this team talented instead of drafts like QC and the three amigos.

We went from a probowler or two to quite a few more.

The other thing is...I am glad he left when his heart was not in it instead of milking another years worth of money.

I miss the Parcells PC's, and his talent evaluation. We are where we are today because of him roster side.

If you don't have respect for Bill Parcells, you're not a Dallas Cowboys fan. That guy did everything with every intent to make the team better.

He even fought off Jerry's impulsive urge to play Henskunk.

We fans owe a lot to Bill Parcells.

Bledsoe bailed on the team.....just like JuJo did last year when he realized that Barber was the future. That is why we are stacking this team, we will not let malcontents sink this team...I'm not suggesting these guys will do this, but Henry will not sink us once he realizes his time in Dallas is almost over, beccause we have capable and willing guys ready to step in.....Ellis will not sink us when he realizes his time in Dallas is over, because we have capable and willing guys ready to step in...Terry Glenn will not sink us.....you get the idea

Now you are making claims about Henry and Glenn.
YOU really are bitter, aren't you?

By the way- its been said by quite a few coaches that changing your holder on kicks is NOT a smart thing to do halfway through the season unless things are bad. The kicking was doing pretty good- and if it works you are a MORON to mess with it.

That is not entirely correct. Dallas was not doing well at kicking FGs that year. Vanderjagt was a huge disappointment. It was not until Dallas brought in Gramatica that the kicking game became solid. That was the time to switch holders if a change was going to be made. Bledsoe was never going to be an option. Crayton, either. The only true option was to use Matt McBriar as the holder. He had experience doing it and I believe still practices it as the back up holder.

I think it was just a fluke play. It is possible that whomever was holding on that single play could have had the ball slip out of their hands. The decision to keep Romo as the holder was not a bad decision. It was not a great decision, either. It is something that you learn from, but I doubt really ever happens again.

you are pretty out of touch if you did not hear the rumblings about Bledsoe's behaviour once he was benched....and the same goes for JuJo, who looked like a undrafted free agent last year and was disgruntled all year, especially as Barber got more carries and the Cowboys failed to even discuss an extension with his agent.

As far as being bitter, you d*amn right I am...Barber could have really used a blow in the 2nd half of the Giants game in the playoffs, but if "I've already checked out" was not so busy sulking because he did not start the game, maybe we could have got some decent prodcutivity out of him.

As far as Henry, Glenn and Ellis....Ellis wants more money, which is why he is always chirping in hopes of forcing the Cowbosy hand, which means he would rather go elsewhere and make more money than to be here. Luckily the Cowboys have stood there ground with this guy and he realizes they hold all the cards..if he decides to slack, Spencer is ready to go. That is my only point,...we have depth to overcome guys who have an agenda seperate from winning. I mean think about it...if Terry Glenn wants to be released to go to Miami to earn his full salary, what does that tell you about his mentality. The Dolphins have no QB, they will be luck to win 4 games, yet Terry Glenn asked for his release earlier this offseason. So don't tell me that there are not guys on this team for reasons other than winning. If Pac Man is re-instated, and he proves to be the best option at starting CB, he needs to get the nod. It has been to long since we have won to worry about protecting egos....ditto for Roy WIlliams. Who will be benched when necessary this year. There is too much talent on this team to worry about bruised egos.
