DMN Blog: Which Cowboy goes off this week?

I think Spencer will wreak havoc on the d-line.

Ware has 36.5 in 51 regular season games.
Spencer has 3 sacks in 17 regular season games.

Approx every 1.40 games, Ware gets a sack
Approx every 5.67 games, Spencer gets a sack

And you think.... Spencer is the one who's going to create pressure?

Yeah, so what? :laugh2:

Did I say he was going to outshine Ware?

Please keep up...

Point is, Ware is 4 times more likely "to go off" than Spencer.

If Ware gets a sack, it will be "meh." Par for the course.

If Spencer gets a sack, its reason to celebrate.

When Spencer starts to play as much as Ware, then the comparisons will be valid... Spencer is going to be a beast, just like Ware...

Yet another reason to predict Ware goes off before Spencer does (other than just being that much better).... playing time.

You are just helping out my point.

Spencer isn't there yet; he isn't as productive as Ware.... so why would you take Spencer?

They are going to be doubling Ware and not accounting for Spencer. They'll be sleeping on him as far as it concerns the pass rush. It is a perfect oppurtunity for him to shine. Spencer has a wide variety of pass moves as well. I just hope he contains the edges well. The Commanders may run a couple screens to his side, because he may be little over-aggressive.

Ware will get his, cause he's just a beast. The definition of 'going off' for Ware is like 6 sacks, with 12 pass deflected. "Getting his" is a sack at least, with like 65 QB pressures...

I also predict the left side of the offensive line going off when Holland is in... I don't even think they are going to pass that series...

Make no mistake about it, this team just solidified it's interior line by leaps and bounds. There are gonna be some huge holes up the middle, with Leonard Davis, Gurode, and Holland working that area.

The Commanders DL should be wasted by the third-quarter...

They are who we think they are....

Actually the Eagles didn't blitz Romo anywhere near as much as they planned. Understand they changed their strategy after Romo hit TO for that 72 yard TD early in the game.

BTW: I'm really not sure just exactly how good the Eagles are. Don't forget the Cowboys (Romo) gave them 2 TDs vs the 1 TD the Eagles gave us. Not saying in any way that the Eagles aren't a pretty good team, but that game shouldn't have been as close as it was. Give kudos to the Eagles for their big win over the Steelers--but the Steelers have a horrible OL so Roth got no protection. The Cowboys aren't the Steelers. Enough said.

Tony Romo. He will take advantage of a very very suspect Skins secondary. If the Skins can't get any pressure, it will be a long day.

T.O. is gonna go off...

I think Austin is going to add a downfield element that will really help T.O. If they float the safety over to help cover T.O., then Austin can get behind the defender. If the safety stays neutral, then both T.O. and Miles can exploit the defense, but I think they double up on T.O., and both Austin and Witten have a good day. If the strong safety drops into coverage, Felix or Marion catch the pass over themiddle, or, Romo uses the draw to Barber.

I'm thinking this offense is going to grow exponential in the next few weeks.

If the Skins do their job they will take TO out and give Witten and Austin the field. I don't know how they plan on doing that but hopefully Austin makes it very hard on them for doing it. Hurd may have some moments as well. They shouldn't be able to stop us. If we play with less mistakes then we'll win IMO. I think that's the key more than someone having a big day.

I'm pretty sure thats the exact defintion of "tried and didnt work". That's all he was saying, they tried it and got burned by it so they moved on to other things.

Also, I find it kind of funny/odd that there are no mentions of Mr. Patrick Crayton anywhere in this thread.

Not sure what's up with PC. Is he not getting open?

I think someone on the board earlier pretty much hit the nail on the head. Basically, against top flight corners (Samuel, Lito, Woodson, A. Harris) he doesnt get much seperation, and is therefor essentially taken out of the game by them. However, against second tier or lower corners (Daven Holly, other Browns CBs) he gets open and is capable of making plays. I think thats pretty much the exact definition of a number 2. I think he'll be alright, and I think he'll make some plays Sunday. Maybe not a lot, and prolly won't be the star of the day, but I expect him to get his.
