Cowboys got Cleveland’s 2nd round pick (36 overall) AND 2008 1st rounder in exchange for the 22nd pick. Because a future 1st round pick is viewed as a 2nd round pick in current value.

If you've ever taken Finance 101 in college, it's basically the same concept as The Time Concept of Money. A dollar in my hand today is worth more than a promised dollar tommorrow.

No i've never taken finance 101 and I slept through economics.....

I don't think "ready to play if needed" is the same as "ready to play". Proctor has not played that poorly when he has been in there. At least not poorly enough to hamper the offense.

It takes time to adjust to being with a new team. Proctor has been with the team for a while now. He has gone through the mini-camps and all of training camp and the pre-season games. Holland has not. Patience is needed. It is not confusing to me. I was not expecting this guy to be ready until midway through the season.

Even though he hasn't played poor I am hoping that Holland would be better than Proctor. I just don't trust Proctor since the eagle game last year.

And that hope may turn out to be true. Holland may end up being better than Proctor, but it just takes time. He won't be better if he doesn't know his assignments.

He is better than Proctor... They saw it in Denver and that is why they made the trade. And that is why he as active for Green Bay, as a just-in-case policy. It is all about Holland getting accustomed to the offense.

Especially with a current inflation rate of 5.37%! :laugh2:

Seems to me Wade is very loyal to his players. Especially the ones that go through all the offseason camps. I would not be surprised if Holland does not get a chance to start until next year.

How does a 5th round pick in two years equal a 7th round pick this year?

Does a 1st rounder in two years equal a 3rd rounder this year?

InmanRoshi already explained it, but almost without exception, there is a one-round difference in value for each year of time difference.

For example, if you had a sixth-round pick during the draft and another team wanted to trade you one future pick for that pick, you almost certainly would get a fifth-round pick the following year (or maybe a fourth-rounder in two years).

ehh, don't know how to take this.

Happy that Proctor is apparently good enough to hold him off, but kinda annoyed we gave up a quality pick for a backup to the backup....
The equivalent of a 7th round pick isn't a quality pick IMO.

Where does that put Roy Williams, the WR?
