DMN Burnett Blog: Poor Performance... Correction (updated)

What was it for Bradie James?

Same thing, an unfortunate symptom of having a diet consisting solely of cupcakes and marshmallows.

Unlike a lot of veteran players in this league, you sucked eggs on Saturday night. Who cares if you're "man enough" to admit it? Why did you play that badly to begin with? Because you took advantage of Coach Wade's belief that grown men can be personally responsible for how they prepare?

KB, you had a responsibility to get ready for the season. Your coach had enough confidence to allow you to do that largely on your own. You utterly failed in your preparation.

But thanks for admitting it.

I'm getting sick and tired of watching the "most talented team in the league" get completely worked because of a lack of toughness and preparation. There is a reason why Wade gets miffed at the mention of Camp Cupcake. Because there's some truth to it. Apparently, we have a number of starters who do get it and came into this game prepared. Unfortunately, that's only going to help if we stay completely healthy during the season...

...and that never happens. In this league, if you don't have depth, you ain't got DICK! And if Saturday's game showed only one thing, it's that we don't have nearly the depth we thought we did. What a horrific display.

Didn't Burnett make a big play on the first series of the game? He sniffed out the screen play and tackled the running back didn't he?

How does Burnett's poor performance the rest of the game equal the team getting completely worked? The starters played one series on offense and looked extremely sharp. The starters played two series on defense and looked great on the first one and okay on the second.

I have no idea what you're talking about -- I was watching the last few minutes of the Denver-Houston game. You must have been dreaming. :lmao:

Makes one wonder what if Jerry had selected Tatupu instead just 3 picks later...Remembering Gil Brandt's take on Burnett, 'Lacks great instincts for the position' :abuseme:

Dallas has not drafted a Polynesian in well over a decade (a FB if I remember correctly).

And Siavii is the only FA I can think of the Cowboys bringing in about the same time period.

Trust me, if I were David posting on Burnett's blog, Burnett would be crying by now. :lmao2:

Set it up baby! Getting rolled by Jacob Hester is inexcusable and Burnett needs to know that there is no such thing as a free play. His debt must be paid in the steel cage. :laugh2: l

Wow, overreact much? He should punch you in the face for this post.

Why? I didn't get de-cleated by Jacob Hester. I don't understand why you are so angry with me. :D

I was wondering if anyone would mention this, if they even saw it. James was on the ground at the end of almost every running play. He was either pancaked or made some feeble diving tackle.

And I don't recall seeing him make ANY tackles.

James is playing at a lower weight (listed at 238) which is almost 20 lbs less than what he weighed under Parcells. This makes me think about Parcells' comment on James, being weaker than tissue paper when he was drafted at 235 lbs.

Zach is listed between 238-242 (up from his 225 playing weight in Miami), so he is about the same weight, albeit almost 5 inches shorter than James.

Wade said this year it was "Camp Marshmellow" which was putting too tough a spin on things after watching the game Sat. night.

We need to come up with another catchy phrase for camp that describes it. Maybe if it is bad enough, some of the players will wake up. The backups looked terrible across the board....and the team toughness looked like it was taken from Ellis when he whines like a little girl. Maybe the camp name should reflect girl scout cookies....instead of cupcake or marshmellow.

Don't just sit there on the sidelines -- next time, you go ahead and you post your observation. Waiting on someone else to make the play is for certain members of the Dallas Cowboy defense. You're better than that.

Agreed -- marshmallow is pretty harsh all by its lonesome. If you add a little peanut butter, it mellows it out nicely.

So how about Camp Fluffer Nutter?

$10,000 to see the nose farther in than his eye sockets.

:D

Dude, mellow out. Burnett got trucked by a rookie RB in a preseason game, he did not lose a playoff game for us. He does not deserve this type of treatment. I might put him to sleep with a guillotine, but that's where I draw the line.

Nice.

But you know who I mean. :D

Yeah, we have a lot of nuts in our "daddy day care" camp. So this makes a lot of sense. Camp Fluffer Nutter.....wonder if people will get it.
