Text message alert: My Cardinals source just informed me (via my favorite form of communication) that Boldin isn't a bad guy in the least. He's a great guy who just wants to get paid. And his salary is dwarfed by Larry Fitzgerald's.

I think the Eagles' need for Boldin should make Cowboys owner Jerry Jones that much more interested. Boldin has three years left on his deal in which he will make about $12 million more dollars. Fitzgerald signed a four-year $40 million contract ($30 million guaranteed) in the off-season.

Jerry? You listening?

Don't worry about all that, Jerry knows he will get a veteran receiver. You just sit back and relax. Jerry and Rousenhous will get something figured out.

It takes two to tango. I don't see the Cards moving him this close to the season.

He can gripe all he wants, but he will go out and play on Sundays.

Thank goodness for Tim's Cardinals source. It's good to see that he has the same journalistic processes as Mike Florio.

And all the good GMs decide which players to target based on spiting division rivals. Great plan.

why does cowlick think jones and everyone else hasn't tried for him yet? from what i've heard they have and arizona said "NO". several times.

should we kidnap him and give him plastic surgery so no one will notice?

You get him for two reasons:

Owens is 35 and you need a star WR when he is gone in two or three years. It's too late to draft a number 1 to take his place. Boldin would do that.

There is no salary cap in 2010. So no one can out spend us that year.

and the fact arizona has said "NO" many times and in many languages doesn't come into play? we just "get him"?

That is a good idea. We could make him look like Mike Jefferson!

He would do that for 10 mill wouldn't he?

Is he married - do we have a wife and family to consider?

On the nosey!

Of course the Cowboys are interested, as are the Eagles.

And they've been interested in Roy Williams as well.

But when their current teams say 'absolutely not' to a deal, that deal doesn't happen.

I'd love him here (and NOT in philly)

But I think it'd put back the development of the younger talent we have. We need to stick to one thing: go with boldin and sacrifice hurd/austin/stanback's progress or go with hurd/austin/stanback and future players and let Boldin go where Boldin goes
