Pressure on Cowboys' Bennett tonight

So what are the chances that Cowboys second round draft pick Marcellus Bennett bounces back?

I'm not talking about thd debacle in Denver. I'm talking about two really rough episodes for him on HBO's "Hard Knocks.''

Can it get any worse than when a position coach is trying to get a rookie to take practice seriously and as soon as the coach walks away, Bennett turns to the camera and smirks?

I've had more than one email from Texas A&M Aggies fans who say they are not surprised that Bennett's atttitude is already under question. Let's see how he performs -- for HBO's cameras -- tonight at 9.

This looks like a bad move on the Cowboys part, getting rid of Fasano, for an immature kid that looks like the Cowboys maybe regretting.

*shrugs* This seems like such a blown up none issue to me. I could easily be wrong but it sure doesn't seem like all that much to me.

I agree. The kid was playing to the camera and of course it gets blown out of proportion.

Don't think many, if any, of my bosses would have been so forgiving? I would have been a cost free fire though.

Could this be Jerrys fault for putting the cameras at the practices, so that it takes Bennetts attention away?

You think your bosses would have been as forgiving to Adam Jones as the NFL and the Cowboys have? Not saying you but it appears many hollered about second chances for a guy has been arrested 6 time and yet throw a fit because Bennett smirked in front of the camera. I don't get it

You guys can rationalize it all you want.

You cant deny it is flat out dis-respectful. If Jason Witten listens to everything garret tells him and credits him for making him an even better player. Then bennet had better eat crap and smile while doing it if he is told to do so.

none of it I dont think has any bearing on what kind of a football player he is yet, but it says alot about what kind of a person he is.

Witten seems like a very mature guy and has always been pretty low key, Bennett is not Witten and is not as mature at this point. The kid smirked so what. Evidently he is showing improvement according the coaches so that shows that he is listening to what they are telling him.

Yup ..... an immature kid that has been thrust in an environment where he is being watched every week by millions of viewers.

Says nothing about what his character will be like when he becomes a man.

I agree had it not been for Hard Knock nothing ever would have been said about this matter because it is not a big deal. I'm sure there are many players who give a coach a look or a bit of an additude after being fussed at. Bottom line is he is showing improvement and doing what the coaches tell him

The kid smirked so what.

Its disrespectful to the staff and his teammates.

IF you cant put your helmet right when a coach asks you to, you have issues.

again, I dont think any of this determines what kind of a football player he is right now, but it certainly tells alot about what kind of person he is.

oh and this is the nfl, he really shouldnt have the copout that he is immature. Immature would be goofing around, staying out late after curfew etc.... Ignoring a coach two feet in front of your face is an arrogant classless thing to do.

Hopefully that is all over.

I disagree on two points once he's already a man. He is over the age of 18 and make more money then the average person in america world in a life time. Two he is mature whether the camera there or isn't who's to say instead of the camera he doesn't turn and smile or laugh it off with a player

Man or not, at 20 your "character" is pretty much set. You may mature but you should have basic respect down at that point don't you think?

That said, when he figures out how it works, their way or the highway, I think he will be forced to get his act together.

This isn't college anymore and he is no longer BMOC.
