DMN Cowlishaw Blog: Pressure on Cowboys' Bennett tonight

That is a matter of opinion and not a fact.

I have watched and listened to countless interviews with witten raving about john garret as the tight ends coach.

he does a show every wednesday on the ticket with BAD radio. He loves john garrett and speaks highly of him all the time.

so um maybe it isnt a stretch to say he respects and listens to garret?

And do you honestly think Hard Knock is reality? Bennett is doing what they are asking and that can be seen by the improvements he is making. As I said if people want to get bent out of shape over this then go for it seems like a waste of time to me.

No, I don't and frankly what I've seen hasn't looked as bad as some others seem to think.

But his behavior hasn't been limited to just Hard Knocks, written reports mentioned his attitude before television visually illustrated it.

The worst thing I'll accuse him of is making a bad first impression and hope that he improves.

I'm just saying you want to run around and talk about maturity when you have that as an avatar.... go figure

Hey, a person can be (mostly) mature and still have a sense of humor.....

Sure.

And that's the point.

You watch it and laugh at it, but you don't live it.

You are not alone.

What's funny I have had a couple of coaches that were that way and it really does desensitize you. Also, some of their tirades can be down right funny.

Whoa! You just triggered a memory I had in the vault. I had a coach in high school that didn't get mad often, but when he did he was like the dad in "A Christmas Story". BUMPUSES! I had to turn away so he wouldn't see me smirking. I got the message, but my response was different from others.

I haven't seen enough of Bennett to make a determination of his character. My reaction was like many others that he was disrespectful. I will reserve judgement. We've welcomed T.O. and he has done a 180. The least we can do is give Bennett more than two episodes of a reality show before we judge him. Time will tell.

Office Space is a great movie, but proclaiming it "one of the greatest films ever made" is pushing it.

...Excuse me, I believe you have my stapler. :laugh2:

I listen to what the staff has to say about him and they don't seem to have an issue and feel like he is coming along.

lol...what what else are they going to say with the cameras on?

"Well, looks like we really screwed the pooch with this Bennett kid. In a perfect world we'd cut him but we spent a 2nd rounder on him and he is guaranteed money so we have to put up with his crap."

How dare you!!
;)

It spoke to me tremendously and I have never laughed as hard as I did that movie.

So I hereby declare one of the all timers!!!:D

I wish we would have drafted a WR.That being said I do believe HBO is glorifying the negative to make a storyline.I think Tony Curtis or whatever his name is is a very good back up TE.

I laughed my *** off too, but isn't even in the same league as My Cousin Vinny.

I don't disagree with anything you have said but I am pretty sure there are times when Witten completely tunes him out or laugh his arse off. I don’t care how much a player likes/respects a coach, it happens.

Also, Witten’s perspective and Bennett’s perspectives are at the moment polar opposites. Witten turned into a pro’s pro while Bennett is still making the transition. Naturally Witten gets less venom from coach Scrappy but the way Coach Garrett is portrayed I betcha most of the offensive players can imitate him and probably have some very interesting takes about him when the cameras or the mics aren’t around.

Its disrespectful to the staff and his teammates.

IF you cant put your helmet right when a coach asks you to, you have issues.

again, I dont think any of this determines what kind of a football player he is right now, but it certainly tells alot about what kind of person he is.

oh and this is the nfl, he really shouldnt have the copout that he is immature. Immature would be goofing around, staying out late after curfew etc.... Ignoring a coach two feet in front of your face is an arrogant classless thing to do.

Hopefully that is all over.

I'm with you 100%. Call me "old school" or whatever, but all around me everyday I see the "it's no big deal" with today's youth, and more and more cases of just outright disrespect.

Not to rant, but definitely, his whole attitude says lots about the type person he is. And IMO, at this very early starting point in his career when he should be building a solid foundation, the type person he is, is to his detriment as a football player, first and foremost, and to the team secondly.

Coaches can be funnier then the funniest comedian depending on the situation. Also, to someone not on the inside that same comedic moment won’t be funny at all.
