When you wear the star on your helmet, you expect good things. Cowboys receiver Patrick Crayton certainly thinks this will be a good season. At least, he's expecting one. In Crayton's mind, the Cowboys should definitely be playing in the Super Bowl.

"Right now, we're trying to get it right back," Crayton said. "Each year we take one step closer. This is our year where we have to take it. We should be playing in Tampa Bay come February 1. We should be playing in Tampa Bay. That's our ultimate goal this year.

"We're not just playoff possibilities, now we're contenders. As contenders, we're one of the top teams to beat, I believe.

"Who did we lose? Julius [Jones] and Anthony Fasano. That's it. Everybody else is back. The whole front five is solidified. The receivers are here. The running backs are here, and we've got two guys brought in for Julius being Felix [Jones] and Tashard [Choice], so you're getting two for one. That's usually a good trade most of the time."

Anybody disagree with Crayton's thinking about the offense?
-----------------------------

He's such a blabbermouth. Any players talking about making it to the Super Bowl next season is talking too much IMO.

But for this guy, the one who literally dropped the ball last season, to be talking is really annoying to me.

Try winning one playoff game first Patrick.

Fat mouths like this are the reason the rest of the NFL hates us.

And yes, everything he says is true. But that doesn't mean you start talking the talk when last season he couldn't walk the walk, or catch the ****ing ball with an open field in front of him!

I agree also. He becoming one of those guys you hate for a reporter to shove a microphone in their face because he just may say something stupid. Although I agree with everything he said we haven't won a dam thing yet so just shut up and play.

He's becoming one of my favorites. Not walking the walk in the playoff game last year was a major setback, granted. In general for his career here, he's exceeded expectations each year, has got sure hands, and he does everything well. I don't mind the talking back and forth with the NYFG. That stuff's just fun.

It was embarrassing for him to make the crack about playing NE *if* they make it to the Superbowl, but otherwise, I like a little attitude on the field and off it.

OT but the basic training part of that movie was some of the best film making of the last 30 years.

R Lee made that movie IMO. His stuff was the best by far. On one of the last few days of my basic training our Drill Sgt rented some movies for us. This was one of them and he was laughing harder than all of us. I swear I seen him trying to write down lines to use on the next batch of recruits. :laugh2:

Crayton had a helluva season for us, he has the best hands on the team, he defended himself responding to the Giants comments last season, and he had a bad playoff game and you guys are all over him. Chill out, the man can express his thoughts if he wants to. One bad playoff game and all the sudden he can't play, he's unreliabe, he's a blabbermouth. Unbelievable!!! Crayton balled for us, get off the dudes back...

I believe that we are all getting a bit too overconfident.

I pray that it does not affect the players' performance this season.

That's what I've been telling you guys...

After the NJFG loss, he said they won but he didn't regret his trash talk and that he would talk even more next year...

Can't wait...

We live in a 'pro' wrestling entertainment society. Way too much boasting which goes well beyond what's necessary. Still, if his team will get him to the promise land and win a Lombardi, his boasting will not come back to haunt him... much. However, if the team should fall short of the ultimate goal again, his mouth will have dug another huge hole for himself.

Way too much Vince McMahan in the NFL, imo.

Brandon Jacobs proves that boasting with limited talent does not prevent you from winning the big one.
