The problem with Crayton is that when you talk as much as he does and then you come up 'small' in a big game you are going to get smashed.

That's the way it is in sports, always has been and always will be.

He knows this and by talking he set himself up for the criticism he took after that Giants game last season.

The problem is that he didn't learn from it. He's still talking, lol.

Ware, T.O., Romo, Barber, James, Newman, Witten. These are team leaders.

Crayton's name doesn't belong on that list.

Get smashed? Maybe so, by fans who don't see the big picture and what he actually did over the entire season. One game and he gets hammered, that's ridiculous. He's still talking? Saying this team is a SB team, a contender, is talking? He's right about all those comments. And who ever said Crayton was a team leader? Actually, he may be, I'd like to hear what his teammates say about him. Thats your "team leader list", again, I'd like to hear who the players say are the leaders.. Not trying to be a jerk or anything but I just think Crayton is taking alot of unnecessary shots for having a bad game and for speaking up for himself and the team with the Giants starting the entire verbal fight. Again, Crayton was a helluva ballplayer for us last year and his teammates acknowledge him as having the best hands on the team... He's a Cowboy, cut him some slack...

Trust me. I listen and read enough about the Cowboys to know that I have never heard one of the players mention Crayton when the term 'team leader' comes up in an interview. I would have remembered.

No **** he's a Cowboy. I would love for him to act with some humility and not act like his team is ready for a trip to the Super Bowl before they have even played one game in the 2008 season.

I could care less if his comments are on point. I even said they were, but blabbing about to the media, the media, the media, the media!!!, not his friends or family or teammates, does nothing to help THE TEAM reach it's goals.

All it does is put a big fat target on his back for the next time a media outlet goes looking for a quote they can use on Sportscenter.

If you can't see that that's the big picture then I don't know what to tell you.

We do appreciate his play on the field. Anyone who said to cut him was silly and probably only said it within two weeks after that game because they were devastated from the loss and needed to blame someone.

As for me, I loved that he came on the Irvin Show and admitted he had a bad game. From there I expected him to learn a little and keep his comments about Super Bowl trips to a minimum at the very least. It's JUNE and he's talking Super Bowl, what do you think he's going to be talking in October when we are 7-1 again?

My guess, shooting off his mouth again like he did last year when he embarrassed himself by saying that they could beat the Pats 'if' the Pats made it to the SB, and this was after the Cowboys just lost to them.

As for cutting him some slack. I didn't shoot the man, I posted something on a message board about him.

Unfortunately my friend, we live in a world where everyone won't act the same.

This is a team made up of 53 players, different personalites, good guys bad guys, thugs, saints, mean people, nice people, the list goes on. Don't expect them all to be SAINTS and do things that we may do, this is a world full of different personalities.

Bottom line, the guy came to play last year, but a guy shows some mean-spiritness, he's now all of a sudden an a**. I want that guy on my team puffing his chest up intimidating the opposing players and putting fear into defenses, and even guys with marginal talent can rattle super stars.

The guy tough, comes to play, and when we all whined that we had no tough guys on the team a couple of years ago, well here's our answer starting with big tough Crayton.

Have a nice day! :D

crayton is a good wr for us. period. hate the drop - that's understandable. we hate "the catch" too.

all are symbols for close but no cigar.

crayton will never be a TO. he'll never be an irvin. he'll never be a top wr in this franchise history. not yet. not now. his last play cost us moving on for the 1st time in 12 years.

but fans seem to put the other 11 years on him also.

wanting to win sure does blind just living.

we're fortunate to have crayton. he doesn't play up to his lip all the time, no. but he's a good player in his role. sometimes outside his role.

but we tend to want to win now. to end a story - now. crayton did neither and only prolonged the agony of 1 bad play at the worst of possible times.

unfortunately people will make that one play everything and the rest of his career...nothing. why? cause he failed at the worst of possible times. in front of far too many eyes to easily be forgiven or looked past.

crayton is still a good wr. if we cut "his lousy ***" he'd never clear waivers.

some people suffer for wanting him to be more than what he is but if you take him for ONLY what he is, he's gonna be fine.

people need to vent. whine. even perfection has flaws when it doesn't get perfect on our own terms.

we need help at WR cause crayton is a bad arse #3 but there's a reason he'll never get past that despite fan desire.

Crayton is absolutely right, this team should be in the Super Bowl this year. That is not over confidence, that is reality. On paper the team is better than last year, so not sure why there is any hand wringing. Who cares is Crayton said it...I prefer that over the BS one game at a time rhetoric that players give.

I'd also point out that he did not mention one time that he would be key, his message was the team should be playing in Tampa. If there is a good argument as to why the team should not be thinking that way I'd love to hear it. It'd be wrong, but it would be a fun read.

The people who hate on him for setting the bar high for himself and the team are babies.

I want a couple more guys on this team who aren't afraid to say "Hey this is where we SHOULD be. This is our ultimate goal."

I like the confidence, I like the brash nature. If he improves more this year, as he has every single year he's been in the league, I'll be absolutely thrilled for him.

Crayton???

Intimidating?
Fear-inducing?
Rattling?

Tony Romo intimidates defenses with his passing, scrambling and playmaking abilities.

Terrell Owens has been inducing fear in secondaries for the majority of his career.

Marion Barber rattles would be tacklers with punishing collisions.

Certainly, Patrick Crayton is a solid receiver, but me thinks he's being built up a bit too much. JMO.

How many years did Philly players stand around talking SB? Talk is cheap only thing that matter is performance on the field and putting in the work to get yourself ready. Talking to the Media does not do one single thing except give the person talking some attention. I like Crayton but I would just as soon not hear the talk go prove it that is all that matters.

You know what I find kinda of Funny is how most people on this forum were ranting and raving for us to draft a WR. Why ? what for we have arguable one of the best in T.O and PC as a very good number 2 ( yeah right  ) or is it that he is a number 3 and we need another more potent number 2, hmmmmmm.. I cant wait for this pre-season cause if you think its a lock with PC at number 3 think again, the only and I mean the only thing that is a lock is his contract $$$.. Good luck big mouth there a bunch of hungry WR's in camp this year.
For all the Roy bashing on hear I read This is the only player that chaps my ***...I cant stand him or his mouth..Even if he is a Cowboy doesn't mean I have to like him. That's blind loyalty not childish I also don't blame the loss totally on him, he contributed as well as others, That's not my beef with him. As for him being a leader. Think again..

"intimidating players"?

"putting fear into defenses"?

Are you still talking about Patrick Crayton here?

On paper were better I agree, but what does on paper have to do with going out and performing. I remember the Redstinks were great on Paper when they acquired Deion and Bruce Smith and a few other free agents and they tanked .
Football is chemistry and staying healthy. Do you think were going 13-3 this year? Talk is cheap anyone can talk before the season . Go out and DO IT!!!

"Right now, we're trying to get it right back. Each year we take one step closer. This is our year where we have to take it. We should be playing in Tampa Bay come February 1. We should be playing in Tampa Bay. That's our ultimate goal this year.

We're not just playoff possibilities, now we're contenders. As contenders, we're one of the top teams to beat, I believe.

Who did we lose? Julius [Jones] and Anthony Fasano. That's it. Everybody else is back. The whole front five is solidified. The receivers are here. The running backs are here, and we've got two guys brought in for Julius being Felix [Jones] and Tashard [Choice], so you're getting two for one. That's usually a good trade most of the time."

That's great,
and last year we let the Giants walk into our house and upset us after we schooled them twice and blow a great season at 13-3 and not even win a playoff a game ....You know what I'm still pissed..And for all these moves during the off-season ( Its a start ) doesn't mean jack **** to me until they go out there and beat the snot out of teams. I'm sick of this wait till next year crap. " we Look good on paper schmaper".

"could of "
"would of "
should of "

DID'NT !!!!!!!
