Again, it points to the absurdity of the "didn't put up" statement. Crayton was huge for us during the season. He put up all year. You can say "when it mattered" but to say his regular season performance "didn't matter" ignores how we even got to that playoff situation.

Whats games are you watching ? what did he do that's was so extraordinary? this season can you refresh my memory? what was so great seriously what did he do that was so remarkable? hes single covered he has T.O one of the best WR opposite him talking coverage away from him what is your love affair with this guy I don't get it...are you related to him that's all I can surmise

1. i didn't "start off" by saying "shut up".
2. i did not tell you to shut up - just go find other kids who need patty-the-wonder-mouth to look up to. my guess is you'll be alone.

if crayton flicks your jiggits, great. but right now you just look like someone who's polishing up 15 minutes of fame by saying stupid crap on an island with no one else around to even remotely agree.

is crayton a valid leader on this team to anyone outside YOU.
all i hear are crickets.

have fun being alone while the adults talk.

better?

So you have an ear to the team and know who the players see as a leader? Again, if the players don't like it a leader should tell him to shut up.

If you want to continue to split hairs over how you aren't a hypocrite fine. I'll leave you and Ilovejerry to have an adult conversation.

man your a sensitive guy huh...........

Crayton can talk all the smack he wants to. If that is what gets him fired up and ready to perform, so be it.

BTW, Crayton never initiated the smack-talk against the Giants. He responded to them in the second game, after the Giants were jibber-jabbering.

What about after the Patriot Game? Or when he predicted we would have the most points in NFL history.( last year )
I understand when your playing you get emotional and yap with the opposing team and talk smack , What I cant figure out is why does this guy do it on camera as well and not leave it on the field. Its a no win situation if you mess up ( drop a ball in the playoffs ) that just adds fuel to the fire So I just don't get this guy .

do YOU have that ear to the team? no. so how come you can imply you're speaking for the team but i can't?

this is why it doesn't bother me you call me a hypocrite. you don't seem to know what one is. you wanna go ride crayton the wonder pony go ahead. but don't mistake your personal infatuation for being more than that.

and did any "valid" leader on the team do that?

some people equate loud with leadership. i want a tad more.

Every player reacts differently...

If he talks smack and never performs, he'll get booed. If he talks smack and performs, everybody will love him.

What is the common denominator in the equation?

Performance...

will not deny that at all.

did crayton talk smack? yes.
did crayton drop a ball at a crucial time? yes.
will he naturally get some hatred/flack for that? yes.
does that one drop nullify him still being a damn good #3 for us and a decent spot #2? yes, for many it seems. no, to me.

however, some people love you till you screw up, then hate you. sometimes we're in an all or nothing world and any middle ground is tantamount to defeat, not compromise and understanding.

people go nuts over roy and make stuff up to be mad about they'll SAY they apply evenly, but has anyone cared TO missed OTA the other day? no. ellis? no.

yet in the roy thread how many people said ALL PLAYERS MUST BE THERE when what they meant was all played named ROY WILLIAMS must be there?

people exaggurate to prove their point enough to start believing in those exaggurations. backing down doesn't make them wrong on that one point it would seem, but overall. why? cause they're an all or nothing person to begin with.

crayton is a good WR and i'm glad to have him on the team.
crayton is not a "traditional" leader in the sense we have in romo, to, witten and barber.

to say "those guys are not getting it done so crayton is a good leader" is just messed up to the Nth degree. crayton was there too when it wasn't getting done. right? yet those leaders failed and crayton the wonderpony is a leader.

sometimes you just wonder why people put their logic away at the oddest of times.

Ice I think your right on Point.
Not to side with you just to bug the PC lover here , My point is I never really believed in this guy from the start, Yes he is a good number 3 WR, I would like him a lot more if he was quite, and Humble Its hard to like a loud mouth, (and no one cant deny this cat pops off all the time )who drops a big pass.

well, not many #3 players are "leaders" on the team. i can't think of any off the top of my head.

this isn't to say crayton isn't a good WR for us. i *do*think he is and i *do* get the anger to him. i think it goes overboard, esp if you already don't care for the player.

irvin could get away with just about anything simply because he backed it up. crayton could say about whatever he wants now IF he made that catch AND we won the game. winning changes a lot.

irvin could get away with things crayton never could because he backed it up on the field. his heart was always there. you saw it in every play. as much as i like crayton, he is what he is. a mouthy #3 WR who can sometimes help at #2.

the entire argument of crayton being a leader because romo, to, witten and barber didn't get it done is just stupid. even if they didn't get it done, crayton was there with them, why does he get a free pass?

some people just need to go glomping on windmills i guess.

The "big" major play I saw from Glenn involved him fumbling a ball out of the end zone in Seattle. Some hands.

I remain shocked that he got a pass for that crap play and while Crayton has been public enemy number one here since January.

I'm not shocked at all. First of all, Glenn has a resume of performing at a high level for years, particularly reliable while here in Dallas. So he dropped a pass. It hurt, yes, but it happens on occasion, even to the best of them.

Second, and to your point about Crayton, Glenn wasn't running his mouth. In fact, from people I know and what I've seen posted, most feel like I do, which is acknowledging that drops happen. But if you're going to run your mouth the loudest and longest, you best not have a drop occur in the biggest game of the year to that point.

Crayton had a helluva season for us, he has the best hands on the team, he defended himself responding to the Giants comments last season, and he had a bad playoff game and you guys are all over him. Chill out, the man can express his thoughts if he wants to. One bad playoff game and all the sudden he can't play, he's unreliabe, he's a blabbermouth. Unbelievable!!! Crayton balled for us, get off the dudes back...

THANK YOU! TOTALLY AGREE.

TO and Romo had pretty mediocre games when it mattered too. They didn't "put up" -- does that mean they shouldn't be looked to as leaders?

Um...correct me if I am wrong...I very well may be but I do not recall seeing tony jogging around during the middle of a play....pretty sure I didnt see that from TO either....hmmm.

And the Giants ran their mouths all season. How'd that work out for them?

worked out well since they didn't quit during the middle of the plays.

The problem with Crayton is that when you talk as much as he does and then you come up 'small' in a big game you are going to get smashed.

That's the way it is in sports, always has been and always will be.

He knows this and by talking he set himself up for the criticism he took after that Giants game last season.

The problem is that he didn't learn from it. He's still talking, lol.

Ware, T.O., Romo, Barber, James, Newman, Witten. These are team leaders.

Crayton's name doesn't belong on that list.
