If you combine Bruce Carter's athletic ability, Sean Lee's work ethic and preparation, and Jason Witten's durability, you have a Hall of Fame linebacker.

Too bad Carter's obsessed with McDonald's.

If there's anything I hate more than our team treading water for years and players not committing despite the massive paychecks they receive- it's McDonalds.

I made posts throughout the season about this guy. He's a bum. He would literally walk into blocks, wouldn't pursue the ball (which is a cardinal sin in this scheme), and he got benched in favor of Ernie Sims. He's in a contract year. Let's hope he proves me wrong.

Shut up Jerry. We have two eyes, we know a dog when we see one. You want a real linebacker, go look at Bowman in San Fran. Or Burfict in Cincy. Building your team around dogs like Bruce Carter and Miles Austin is what gets you the soft label year after year after year.

When will this coaching staff recognize Bruce Carter is Randall Godfrey 2.0 if you just put him @ MLB and leave him there? I've seen enough of that piece of glass Sean Lee roaming the middle

Hate agreeing with Jerry but I'm still hopeful with Bruce. He showed too much his Junior year to be playing like this now. Needs to find motivation.

I'm very disappointed that he doesn't seem to care enough about football. That's worse than lacking some talent, IMO.

I don't think Bruce Carter loves football.

You watch him play and he looks like he'd rather be somewhere else.

He's talented but I wouldn't bank on this guy.

I think the expectation should be higher than Doug Free but I understand the comparison. Doug Free at his best is an average level starting tackle in the NFL. He is a guy you look to replace. Nothing wrong with that. I would teams would have 10 or so starters they consider average and would like to upgrade. Two years ago Carter looked like one of the core players on the team. This is a big year for him obviously. Not only do you hope he turns it around. A separate question is do you reward him with a big contract if he plays better.

Dallas Cowboys coaches believed that Bruce Carter was going to be a perfect fit for their new 4-3 defense at weak-side linebacker going into the 2013 season. But Carter never emerged into the type of player the Cowboys felt like he could become in their Tampa 2 scheme.

Carter seemed to lose his confidence at times and struggled in pass coverage more than the Cowboys ever thought he would.

But Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said he’s confident Carter can still be “outstanding.”

Yep. There's approx. 5-6 posts with 'Hope' in them. Jerry sells it on every street corner.

Watered down and flavored with lies but he keeps most thirsty enough to drink it.

It fools folks into believing he's a genius owner..............

I remember that play against the Giants where the guy caught the ball & Carter didn't even bother to touch him down so the receiver gets up & runs in for a TD.

Oy vey.

Right you are, Jerra, keep beliefing, season after season, that some players will come around.
We are still waiting for Austin, Lee, some O linemen. So let's add Carter to the bunch. Any day they will wake up and play good for us. Let me know when he does. I will be looking at the Cowboys past super bowl games and weeping for the future.

My hope for Carter has nothing to do with Jerry. I think Carter has the physical tools to be a quality player but unlike college you can't get by on physical ability alone.
