Tank out

Cowboys nose tackle Tank Johnson is sitting out practice today with a sprained ankle. He was limited in practice on Wednesday. Wade Phillips said Tank told him he was getting better by the hour earlier this week. Apparently not.

Sorry that we're late on this.

But, Deon Anderson (knee), Roy Williams (forearm) and Kyle Kosier (foot) are not at practice today due to health issues. Anderson said he's not sure when he'll get his staples removed from his knee and Kosier was seen going to a meeting with a walking boot.

We have not seen Williams since his injury.

Tank Johnson didn't practice and had his right ankle taped. Johnson was talking to Wade Phillips and Britt Brown before team drills.

The players are in shoulder pads and helmets, which is custom for this time of the week.

Backup NT Tank Johnson told Wade Phillips that his ankle sprain was getting better "hour by hour," but he isn't on the practice field today. We'll address this during the always thrilling Phillips daily press conference and pass on whatever info we get.

In the event Tank may not play this week, I wonder if we'll see Spears play some NT? Didn't Wade experiment with this in TC?

Interesting. Maybe he's getting treatment during that time but, certainly there is something to be gained from watching practice, doing mental reps as your replacements play, etc.

Or how about just supporting your team? His absence says a lot.

Only thing noted was that the media reps haven't seen him. However, it doesn't mean the team hasn't seen him or that he hasn't participated in meetings and other related workouts.

And remember that the media is only allowed to see the first 10-20 minutes of practice. No guarantee he doesn't come out afterwards.

DUDE..... wow.... Roy can't catch a break with some of you.

When he starts doing something other than putting up three tackles a game on average, we'll talk.

Never has a man carried his past reputation so far past his current worth.

Actually, it was also noted that the media reps had seen every other injured player.

Nor does the completely unfounded Roy idolatry.

Hey, I call it like I see it. That's why I would be a far better GM than most of you. Most of you are too caught up in emotion or feelings based on past performance.

I never said I liked him - but if you want to cut him AND take that cap hit, fine with me.

Where on earth did I say we should cut him? I'm very critical of his current level of performance. Sue me.

the cap hit isn't bad. If we cut him he wouldn't take as big of a hit as you're thinking.

So am I - but he's stuck on our team, so what else can we do? We either accept it and move on, or keep wasting our time whining about it.

BTW-this OP was about Tank and his injured ankle, how the heck did it shift completely to Roy?

So because they hadn't seen him, you read that he's being a bad teammate? I'm not sure I can reach that far to get to that conclusion.

Could it be, they just hadn't seen him? With no hidden meaning?

So says you. The practice report in the OP discussed several injured players, all of whom had been seen around the facility with the exception of Roy.
