100% chance.

Win a Super Bowl = lock on 1st ballot.

Yes, first priority, win a SB for everybody's sake, especially Witten's, he has been a game changer in this playoff run.

Being at the game in Philly, we literally watched him evicerate the short lived confidence of the Eagles fans during their brief comeback---- "why can't we stop that statue?"

How is it that the second best receiving TE in history, and assuredly the best all around TE in history, is anything but an absolute lock for the hall of fame? It's not the hall of "really good players that happened to be on super bowl winning teams."

Tony Gonzalez is doomed....... no ring no bust in Canton. I heard his same argument last year from Kirwin. He said Whitten had no chance because he didn't lead his team to the SB. A caller mentioned that Gonzalez didn't have a ring either....... Kirwin had no answer. I bet Gosselin does the same if you bring up Gonzalez.

Goose is right about a SB win helping JW get in the HOF but I find myself more confident about JW's chances than Goose seems to be sans a SB win.

Watching Murray's photos all over the place makes me realize that its not going to feel right if he bolts for FA. We need to keep this team intact as is as much as possible if were going to have the type of success we had this year.

True his opinion being being a HOF, or was a HOF voter should weigh something. He can still be wrong, as he often seems to be.
Always seems to be pessimistic. No wonder his presentations don't get us many players voted in the HOF. LOL

He gives the presentations, and used to vote. I thought Chearean Williams took over both, but maybe she just has the voting right but Gosselin still does the presentations.

At least she has a more clear head to vote.

kind of nice though the way he slid the Haley deal off onto SF reporters, so maybe they are a bit bitter he won 3 rings with is, only 2 with them. Maybe they don't put in the effort.
And maybe he had more stats success in SF but his 3 rings here count for more, so maybe it's about time he does the Haley presentation for Dallas, not a SF rep.

Or "hall of really good players that play a prominent position".

I think he'll get in.

If Gonzo isn't first ballot, just shut the hall down.

Exactly. Wittn and Gonzo are first time ballot guys. Who retired along with Gonzo last year that would keep him out? Who do we have playing right now that could retire the same year as Witten that would keep him out on the first ballot?

Exactly. He is an absolute lock. If he's arguably the greatest all-around TE in the history in the game, he's a definite Hall of Famer. There are plenty of guys in the HOF without a championship ring. Hopefully he'll get one within the next couple of years.

Because Tony G was better.
