JJT is a horrible football analyst when it comes to things like this, so his opinion is fairly worthless.

About the only thing JJT is good for is hounding for quotes from all the players he is "tight" with.

Predicting the roster right now makes sense.

Predicting the practice squad right now does not. It's too early. Players still have practice to develop and show something and then there are preseason games. If any of these players play well enough to push for roster spots but ultimately fall short, then they will probably be picked up by other teams.

And anyone on this board any better at predicting the PS or the Roster. He sees them, and talks to the coaches every day. So I think he knows a little more about them then any or at least most of us.

But yes, you are right, it is too early, makes no sense. But his evauluations probably aren't that far off.
Also when it comes to players like these, teams tend to stick more with their own players that been through camp with them, since they know their systems. And most of these players are marginal differences at this point.
Well, that my opinion anyway.

Amendola won't even be picked up by a second divison arena football team.

Everyone criticizes Brad Johnson's play but need to remember who his sidekicks were during the series he played. The odds were stacked against him with the poor play of our 2nd unit OL. Glad to read the Cowboys intend giving him some face time with the first team before any final decision is made about acquiring a 3rd QB.

no way amendola would not get picked up by somebody...

He's not 53 squad material to get picked up. He might not make 1st cuts in Dallas.

Coach Nors and coach Brandon pleas enlighten the rest of us to what you have seen from Amendola in practice to make you so sure..

Former players seems to think he's been doing a good job in practice but what does player like Irvin know about WR play anyways right? lol

No, Nors and Brandon shouldn't waste time enlightening us. They should go directly to the coaches who badly need their advice.

My projections:

QB Richard Bartel (or a young QB from another team)

RB/FB Kareem Lattimore

WR Danny Amendola

WR Daniel Polk (or Todd Lowber)

TE Rodney Hannah

DE Marcus Dixon

OLB Darrell Robertson

S Dowayne Davis

I could see teams screwing up the Boys' plans by snapping up a Davis, a Dixon or even an Amendola (and who knows, somebody might take a liking to Lattimore), but if none of them were claimed, that's how I'd see the practice squad shaping up... I could also see the Boys signing an interior offensive lineman from off the waiver list, if one of the above was claimed...

Replace him with Rodney Hannah who was on the PS all of last season.

I've read about Hannah making more plays in camp than I have Atchison...

At the same time, I haven't really heard about Gibbons doing much of anything either... I'd like it if he made an impression, he has Gurode-type size for the pivot, but so far, he seems to be pretty much an invisible man...

I'm sure the Boys would like to develop some bigger interior linemen, so maybe the guy has a chance, or as I noted in my previous post, maybe they'll be watching the waiver wires for such a prospect...

Unless he makes some plays in the remaining preseason games, I kinda doubt that you're right about that... certainly, his last game did not help his cause...

Those with "insight" may project the practice squad but who really cares about that anyway!

Don't they usually carry a QB on the practice squad? :D

I'm pretty sure they will again this year, too... especially if they wind up going two deep at that position on the 53 man roster... they'd almost HAVE to, in that scenario...

Did Danny sleep with your dog, or poison your girlfriend?? Your level of hatred for the guy is beyond irrational...
