DMN JJT Blog: Who do you like in a Dallas Cowboys track meet?

We all know how fast Pacman is and he says that he runs 10.4 consistently. Check this out:

Bob Hayes
At the 1964 Summer Olympics, in Tokyo, Hayes had his finest hour as a sprinter. First, he won the 100 m by tying the current World Record in the 100 m with a time of 10.0 seconds, even though he was running in lane 1 which had, the day before, been used for the 10km and this badly chewed up the cinder track.

10 flat on a cinder track is just ridiculous, chewed up or otherwise.

He also was running in borrowed spikes because one of his shoes had been kicked under the bed when he was playing with some friends and he didn't realize until he got there.

But Bob wasn't too bright, was he? :LOL

Ill take the WR

I saw Scandrick play a lot in college regularly. Thy show a ton of Huskie ball on Foxnet here in Anchorage. He can flat out FLY.

Austin isn't a slouch neither.

Adam Jones over Scandrick? No way !

My WR team would be running in this order

Scandrick
Jefferson
Austin
T.O

I would also bet money that Austin can outrun Newman.

Roy Williams? Hahaha!! Why I outta !!!!
did Scandrick change positions?

I actually think after the season is the best way to settle this...because there are rumblings out here in the DC area that Laron Landry hurt his hamstring racing Clinton Portis. Landry has not practiced or played all of training camp.

These were the fastest times I saw for Newman:
100 meters in 10.20 seconds
200 meters in 21.42 seconds

so we have,
Pac 10.4
New 10.2

Well, the last place guy, Darvis "I Am Not the General" Patton, finished in 10.03 and since we know Owens would not have finished last at the Olympics...

Owens under 10.03. :laugh2:

I'll take the DBs too, overall. But in an individual 100 meter race...

Owens > anyone

That play where Julius Jones ran about 60 yards for a touchdown and Owens came from behind the defensive backs chasing him to almost catch up with Jones convinced me that Owens has more speed than he's ever been given credit for.

Not to mention smoking Deangelo "I am the self-proclaimed fastest man" Hall on a streak in last year's Falcons game.

But yes, watching Owens catch up to Jones like he was standing still was eye-opening.

Julius has a good 40 time, but he never looked extremely fast with the ball in his hands. I saw him get chased down a few times in the NFL. He just looked to have good, but not great NFL game speed. TO has great NFL game speed.

Sometimes it is better not to post when you think someone has said something stupid than it is to post and realize that your post is just as stupid, I think.

Kind of like when Deion watched Don Beebe run past him while pretty much at a stop and then caught him in a matter of thirty yards or so.

They said Don Beebe was pretty fast. Apparently, that's a relative thing. :laugh2:

Usain Bolt Who? T.O. Wants to Race DBs

The "Hard Knocks" cameras missed a good time in the locker room Monday, where Terrell Owens and a few of the team's defensive backs joked about whether the Cowboys receivers or secondary would win a a 4x100 relay.

Forget the idea of signing Jamaican world-record sprinter Usain Bolt. T.O. said he's beaten track guys in foot races before..

First Owens and cornerback Evan Oglesby did a little trash talking, and later Ken Hamlin got in on the action. Owens volunteered to run the anchor leg, and said his team would also have Miles Austin, Isaiah Stanback and Mike Jefferson. They'll have to delay the race, though, since Austin and Stanback are currently hurt.

Oglesby said the secondary could win with a team of himself, Terence Newman, Mike Jenkins and Adam "Pacman" Jones, who claimed to run a 10.4-second 100 meter dash. Safety Pat Watkins' name was even thrown out there as a contender. Oglesby said Newman could run the last leg against Owens.

Newman probably has the greatest track pedigree on the team. He was a two-time Big XII champ in the 100 meters and an NCAA semifinalist, setting a Kansas State record while he was there by running a 10.2 in the 100 meters. The cornerback was also a runner-up in the Big XII 200-meter sprint, and was conference champ in the indoor 60 meter dash.

Not surprisingly, T.O. was still confident, taking the wide-eyed look he usually sports when he's sure of something.

"Oh I got Newman!" he declared.

Haha, I have a feeling the CBs would kick their arses.

I think Oglesby should kick himself off the team and it should consist of Jenkins, Newman, Pacman, Scandrick.

Just look at the size difference between those 2 teams!!!

hmm, I wonder what Offensive lineman would come in first place in the 100 meters? All I know is, Bigg would be last.

Owens, Scandrick, Austin, and Campo.

Isn't T.O. cool with Maurice Green maybe he has beaten track guys before. It would be a good race I'm going with the DB's myself
