DMN JJT Blog: Who do you like in a Dallas Cowboys track meet?

That's a great point, relays are all about the execution of the handoffs of the baton. If we just had 4 100m dashes and added the times up, that would be a great competition.

I would pay to see that race and I'd take Newman's team for 20 bucks.

After the season though. No torn hammies now.
Tht was my thinking, too. But if they do it early enough in the offseason, whatever strains, tears, etc, would be healed by TC. I say do it. :)

Jefferson is supposed to be pretty fast, actually.
On a track, it's hard to go against the DBs, but I'd take TO in the 100 on a football field against anybody. For a relay, it'd be the handoffs that matter anyway, where you'd have to give the edge to the WR assuming TO didn't have a broken bone and Austin doesn't drop the baton at the goal line.

That's definitely good to hear about Jefferson - his speed.

and Stanback doesn't dislocate his shoulder on the handoff and Crayton doesn't stop before the finish line.

T.O., who insists he would not have finished last in the 100-meter dash at the Olympics, says he would put together a 4x100 team comprised of T.O., Isaiah Stanback, Miles Austin and Mike Jefferson.
Interesting.

I took issue with an offical site article that labeled Mike Jefferson as a possession type and Danny Amendola a potential burner.

But I had no idea Terrell Owens considered Jeffy to be sprinter material.

Ball in the air I doubt anyone on the team could outrun Terrell
Ball in hand, I don't know that there's anyone in the NFL who could run down Terrell Owens.

Stanback could take out Newman or Pacman if he flails a baton anything like the way he flails a football. Then he'll fall forward and dislocate his other shoulder.

DBs, easy... Especially without Lowber.

And TO is so delusional about his speed... "I've beaten track guys before" and "I wouldn't finish last in the Olympics 100m." LOL.

That's part of what makes him him, though.

And I would pay good money to see that relay. That would be awesome.

I think Mickey at the end of last season mentioned that Jefferson had some scoots as well as hands, and the coaches were privately pretty high on him as a result. Anyone else recall this?

I'm sure we'll be hearing he thinks he's good enough at b-ball to play for the Redeem Team too. :laugh2:

Fine with me! He can say whatever he wants as long as he decides to play WR for the Cowboys!

Do we really know how fast Lowber is? Or are we going off Garrett Sr's clip in Hard Knocks?

I think TO beats everybody in 100 meters. On a 40 yard dash the db's got the edge but on a 100 meters i'm leaning towards TO. if we can some how swing a trade to aquire Steve Smith from Carolina, I'm taking the WR's (this trade of course involves wishful thinking wrapped around a pipe dream and inhaling fumes from a crack pipe)

Faster than diarrhea

We all know how fast Pacman is and he says that he runs 10.4 consistently. Check this out:

Bob Hayes
At the 1964 Summer Olympics, in Tokyo, Hayes had his finest hour as a sprinter. First, he won the 100 m by tying the current World Record in the 100 m with a time of 10.0 seconds, even though he was running in lane 1 which had, the day before, been used for the 10km and this badly chewed up the cinder track. He also was running in borrowed spikes because one of his shoes had been kicked under the bed when he was playing with some friends and he didn't realize until he got there. This was followed by a second gold medal in the 4 x 100 m relay, which also produced a new World Record (39.06 seconds).

incredible, right?
