DMN JJT Blog: Who do you like in a Dallas Cowboys track meet?

Newman would smoke Owens in a 100m dash and it wouldn't be close.

You would lose. Newman has 10.2 speed. Austin is fast, but he probably runs in the 10.4-10.5 range.

Owens thinks he could beat one of the finalists in the 2008 Olympics in the 100?

We'll cue him up in the same line of delusional football players right behind Chad Johnson in his Speedo.
Yeah, I don't think Owens runs faster than a 10.03, and he DEFINITELY isn't faster than Usain Bolt. I think Owens probably runs a 10.1-10.2, slightly faster than Newman.

If I had to choose a team, it would probably be the WR's, coming down to a close finish between Owens and Newman with Owens taking the tape. Here is how I see the speed ratio:

Jefferson- 10.7
Stanback-10.4
Austin- 10.4
Owens- 10.1

Jenkins 10.6
Scandrick 10.5
Jones 10.4
Newman 10.2

Too bad Jacque Reeves and Nate Jones weren't here so they could run. Run only, we release them after the race, LOL!

give me Biggs, Gurode, Mcquisten and Columbo.

stanback would somehow seperate his shoulder during the race.

Tht was my thinking, too. But if they do it early enough in the offseason, whatever strains, tears, etc, would be healed by TC. I say do it. :)
These guys are professional athletes. I doubt they'd "tear" anything running a friendly track competition.

Lol - I'm not sure he'd break 11.0 - LOL

That 8-7 standing long jump jump is an all time keeper stat

Tnew would win 100 -

I gotta go db's cause they have four fast guys. The WR only have three. Though I hear Lowber is pretty fast I just don't know how fast.

Newman and T.O would prob run under 10 b/c your getting a 10-15 meter running start. The 2nd,3rd,4th splits should be faster.

For those that want to factor what a 100 meter time would be based off a 40 yard dash time, here is something I found here in a previous post from Stasheroo on Lowber.

An article I found on Lowber:

Could Todd Lowber be the next Sidd Finch?

Twenty years ago, Sports Illustrated ran an April Fool’s story written by George Plimpton about a backwoods pitcher who could throw 168 miles per hour and had opted to sign with the New York Mets. It turned out to be an April Fool’s Day hoax.

Some Vikings fans might be wondering if Todd Lowber fits in that same category. Lowber, signed by the Vikings earlier this week, has been building some of the same type of laudatory credentials that Plimpton needed the make the Finch story believable.

Need size? Lowber is 6-3. Need leaping ability? Lowber, according to trainer Jim Garrett, can jump 42½ inches – more than anyone did at the Combine. So he’s 6-3 and can jump three-and-a-half feet straight up in the air standing flat-footed. How about speed? You kidding?

According to a print report in a Pennsylvania newspaper, Lowber worked out for six teams and ran the 40-yard dash four times. What were his clocked times? 4.11 seconds, 4.21, 4.28 and 4.30. Even that last time would make him one of the fastest players ever in the NFL. If that 4.11 time is accurate, he could be the fastest of all time.

Will Lowber turn out to be a football player? The last time the Vikings tried to bring in a guy who had never played the game, it was a failed experiment when WWE wrestler Brock Lesnar couldn’t cut it. But Lowber has already begun to spin a yarn that would make Paul Bunyan jealous.

Sidd Finch wasn’t real. Lowber is. But is he “for real?" We’ll find that out soon enough.

Sounds like a guy with great athleticism and little experience.

They haven't been training for track and field, though. I think there is a decent chance one of them could get hurt during an impromptu all-out 100m dash.

I'll take the DBs too, overall. But in an individual 100 meter race...

Owens > anyone

Newman will own Owens in the Individual 100 m

this kinda shows a lack of concentration on the teams part. I mean they are already making post -season plans...they should be hitting their play books...i swear if they do this during their off week during the season i'll go balistic

;)

Probably pretty fast. But the one thing this tells me is that the guy on the stopwatch was some old, wrinkled fart with shaky hands using a stopwatch from the 1950's.

The range is way too big for any of it to be believeable, throw it all out.

Ill take the WR

I saw Scandrick play a lot in college regularly. Thy show a ton of Huskie ball on Foxnet here in Anchorage. He can flat out FLY.

Austin isn't a slouch neither.

Adam Jones over Scandrick? No way !

My WR team would be running in this order

Scandrick
Jefferson
Austin
T.O

I would also bet money that Austin can outrun Newman.

Roy Williams? Hahaha!! Why I outta !!!!

You do know Scandrick plays DB right?

huh?

They run sprints for conditioning regularly. They run them in groups thus the arguments about which 'group' is fastest. They already know within the groups.

DBs, easy... Especially without Lowber.

And TO is so delusional about his speed... "I've beaten track guys before" and "I wouldn't finish last in the Olympics 100m." LOL.

That's part of what makes him him, though.

And I would pay good money to see that relay. That would be awesome.

You say this but doesn't DeAngelo Hall supposedly have world class sprinter speed? Didn't Owens blow past him repeatedly?

You see, here's the thing about Chad Johnson. He's an idiot.
