Laufenberg: Think Greg Hardy's a problem now? Consider this scenario

Babe Laufenberg, Dallas Cowboys radio color analyst and former NFL quarterback, answered questions about the team in a chat Wednesday. Here are some highlights.
Question: Mincey says Hardy-DeMarco Lawrence spat no big deal. But Hardy seems to argue with teammates all the time? Is that really no big deal?
Babe Laufenberg: I think in that instance, it truly was no big deal. Problem is, it comes on the heels of the game day confrontation with the special teams coach in NY and missing meetings. But yeah, this one a minor blip on the radar screen if taken as an isolated incident.
Question: Babe, I think it is a given that Greg Hardy won't be a Cowboy next season. With that being said, the Cowboys can save $5 million this season if they cut him before Sunday's game with the Dolphins. So let me ask you, do they roll the dice with him the rest of the season to try and make a late push or do they cut bait now?
Babe Laufenberg: Ha! They rolled the dice with Hardy the minute they signed him. Don't see that happening, as this team is still hoping to make a playoff push, as improbable as that sounds when they are sitting here at 2-7. But here is the bottom line, this is a player who knows that all eyes are on him, who is hoping to get a long-term contract, yet there has been a nearly weekly proclamation of, "We addressed it with Greg and are moving forward." So if you are going by the assumption (and I am) that he is "on his best behavior" what happens when he has real job security?
