[Comment From Ren from Philly]
Question on Stanback. What are the differences between him and Ogletree? From what I can gather, Stanback is considered to have more "after the catch" ability than Olgetree, but Olgetree has looked better at catching passes. Do you agree with that?

Tim MacMahon: Stanback is bigger and more elusive after the catch. Ogletree has been more consistent throughout the course of camp, but Stanback has performed well since returning after missing 10 practices with a sore hamstring. Stanback had a case of the dropsies early in camp, but he's held on to everything thrown his way over the last week.

I really do not like our WR's. I love Roy Williams as a #2 and Caryton as a #3 but when you move everyone up one I'm not feeling real good about it. Sure hope I get proven wrog but I get the feeling everyone is playing a bigger role then they should.

I'm with you, and by the way recievers 3-5 have injury histories. I brought this up last week and everybody said Marty B and Felix would fill the injury void. That would be a best case scenario.

Wonder if Wade heard potential got the coach fired.

Roy is a fine #1.
Crayton, a great #2.
But this team NEEDS someone to challenge for the 2 spot while contributing signicantly at the #3. Someone young, quick and shifty.

Hmmmm....
shoulda signed Andrew Hawkins.

Uhh.... then you should love our corps. Because Roy is #2. And Crayton is #3.

Our #1 is a guy named Witten.

Seriously, we have Witten and Bennett (who looks good). We have Roy and Crayton.

If you got some elite guy at #1 (or whatever is you think you want there), where the hell are you going to get enough balls for this offense?

I like a passing attack that is Roy, Crayton, Witten, and Bennett. Mix in some Austin speed and some Hurd hands. Add in a healthy dose of THE AWESOME Felix out of the backfield. And a little Barber and Choice. You have EVERYTHING you need.

I really can't understand you guys *****ing about our passing attack. Sure, I'd love Fitzgerald at #1 and Andre Johnson at #2 and Calvin Johnson at #3 and Roy at #4. But let's be fricking real. Our passing attack is plenty good enough to win it all with.

Quit *****ing please unless you are going to take a realistic view as to what we have and what you need to have win. This isn't fantasy football here.

So am I. It was just one pre-season game, but he showed the ability to get open and make the catch. Admittedly, I had all-but written him off last year. I still have hopes for Austin as well, but he needs to catch the balls that come his way.

You guys show no love for Austin and Hurd and have 0 clue what player development is.

Our WR core is the weakest part of our football team.

It's easy to say this when they haven't even been out there together one time this year.

I think our 3rd team WRs would have looked alot better with a Player who actually has chance to be an NFL caliber back-up QB this year.

I love your points.... but I don't like the language.

I concur. Just look at the WR corp that won the last Super Bowl.

go tell Bobby Carpenter about player development.

The Cowboy's weakest part of the team are the backups. Barring significant injuries I think every position looks good.
After the season starts Dallas could look at signing the most critical positions like OL/DL CB (for vet backups)
imo

Bobby is a glaring example of 34-32's inability to draft.

Miles and Sam are great examples of player development, as is the guy throwing to them.

i find it funny that all these people whine and want us to be like the Patriots over the years and the offense wr core looks just like the Patriots when they won the Super Bowl. Funny when they got that great goto WR the one that was going to put them over the top they lost 1 game that year but the most important one the SB

Funny how the wr core that won the Superbowl 3 times for the Patriots had a bunch of solid wr and they spread the ball out heck they did not even have a guy close to Witten or Roy. I mean Deion branch had 39 catches going into the superbowl when he caught like 10 or 11 passes the next year he had 78 and caught another 10-11 passes in the SB.

Santonio Holmes went off last year in the SB and he was mediocre all season.

It starts with defense and being able to run and spread the ball out which is not an issue with this team we have a bunch of capable wr and it is not a weakness
