It's easy to say this when they haven't even been out there together one time this year.

It's not easy to say if if you've been paying attention at all to this team during training camp.

We've got a lot of other problems more pressing than the WR corps. Starting with OL depth and ILB depth. Our NTs and even our OLBs are bigger question marks in my book than WR.

The comparison to the Patriots could possibly hold some water if the Cowboys weren't inferior as an organization in every way.

I really love the hate Roy Williams gets.

This guy has the potential to be an elite receiver, which everyone seems to think he's incapable of doing.

Good speed, great size, solid hands, great leaping ability. We've seen him do it, and it wasn't that long ago.

And he's STILL only 28.

He's put in a good offseason of working out, slimming down, yet getting stronger and quicker. Only now is he starting to get some timing down with Romo.

And people want to refer to him as no more than a #2 receiver. As if TO-caliber playmakers grow in trees and Roy is nothing more than a pushover.

Unbelievable.

I'm looking forward to what this guy can do with a full year in the program. Best part is he doesn't have to carry the offense, but he should be a huge weapon nonetheless. I like him matched up against any CB in the division.

There's some hyperbole for the forum.

Both teams got their start in 1960.

Patriots

377-354-9. .516 winning %. 21-13 in the post season. 3 Super Bowls.

All superior in every way to this....

Cowboys

423-309-6, .578 winning %. 32-24 in the post season. 5 Super Bowls.

Must be the new math.

I'm in the extreme minority that still likes Stanback's potential. I like the speed, I like the athleticism.

I saw it in that second kick return.

And his dreads make him look super athletic :D

Yo Marty McFly, can you hook me up with a time machine, so that I can live in the past as well?

Why take what he said out of context?

He clearly means NOW. And I don't agree with him, he made a ridiculous statement.

Off the top of my head, we are superior in several different positions of the football team, personnel wise. We have a better stadium. We have a better set of marketing minds.

Whether all of those are relevant to winning is irrelevant. Because those are parts of our ORGANIZATION.

There was plenty of ways to refute his statement other than historical winning percentages...

Prettu sure Doc would be the one to talk to :D

But I agree that he took what you said and made a bad argument.

But I disagree with your original statement.

Yeah, probably took it a bit far, but I really do hate to see people compare the Cowboys to teams that have had success recently.

Refute him your way. I'll refute him in my way. Unless of course you're an animated cricket on my shoulder.

Every way means every way.

I don't think they are superior right now in every way though I do think they are a better team with the best coach in the NFL. I just don't see the need to resort to hyperbole because you're upset that the Cowboys have a hill to climb.

You think Belichick is the best coach in the NFL?

I've always thought he's overrated.

Yes, I do by a wide margin. I consider him one of the best ever.

In your honor...a side by side comparison of the superior in every way Patriots as they stack up against the Cowboys. Just my opinion. I'll probably be accused of being a homer for this. I know how the game is played.

QBs...Patriots
RBs...Cowboys
WRs...Patriots
TEs...Cowboys
OL...Patriots

DL...Patriots
LBs...Cowboys
CBs...Cowboys
Safeties...even

K...Cowboys
P...Cowboys
LS...Cowboys

I agree with everyone of those positions.

The only one I might waver on is OL, but having played, I know how important cohesiveness and chemistry is in an OL group, and there's no doubt the Patriots have a gritty group that trusts each other.

But we also have a supremely talented group that has played together for three years now. That one is a toss up to me.

and what Ogletree is slow ?

40 yards - 4.36 to 4.45

Good size and bulk...Great timed speed...

Smooth and a terrific route runner

something Stanback can't do

...Excellent hands...

something Stanback doesn't have

Good body control and ball skills...

something Stanback does not have

Nice instincts and awareness...

Stanback does not have

Tough...

Stanglass

if you want a WR you draft one or pick one up UDFA

not a QB a wanna be WR who has the history of getting hurt every year for three years

he was Irelands project let him buy a bus ticket to Maimi

Roy is good and it will be fun watching all these guys back track here in about a month regarding the receivers.
