Despite a 3-8 record, tied for the second-worst in the NFL, the Cowboys have not been mathematically eliminated from playoff contention. Dallas trails Washington by two games in the NFC East with five games remaining. But is it in the Cowboys' best interest to try to keep their slim playoff hopes alive? Or, are they better off losing to improve their draft stock? Cowboys insiders David Moore and Brandon George debate the topic.

Jason Garrett has a couple of years to right the ship just from a Public Relations point of view not coaching, this year will not be highlighted on his resume and will generally dissolve all the cordialness he garnered from last years surprise playoff team.

There is so little generosity in some fans it's......well its doesn't surprise
He gave us a great ride last year I was fully stoked. This year has been
so dis appointing I can't believe. But too late? I wonder what breed that in some fans?

Wah wah wah. One good year in five. Awesome job. We should give him another 5 years in hope his pathetic offense somehow actually works.

Seriously? It's wrong to blame the head coach? The man more in charge of the team that anyone else?

And instead you blame fans who have nothing to do with it?

Great logic there. Once again fandom overrides reality.

pride? accountability? terrific words...now, if ONLY the coaching staff took a look in the mirror and employed them on themselves...

Certainly you can comprehend that the other non-12-4 years would make some a little less "generous" with their support of a head coach that had blown three win and in opportunities.

Different strokes I guess.

Who the heck cares about Jason Garrett? He ranks in the bottom 5 of NFL head coaches and that's not
based on just this year either. Who cares about the locker room. I hear every year that each year
begins with new players and is in fact a new team. I have heard that mantra from coaches and players
alike when the revolving door of players begins in the spring. Next year could be a new team, with new
coaches and a new scheme... Oh, I forgot about Tony Romo and Jerry's Romo friendly edict. What
Tony wants and likes, Tony gets... So I guess more of the same ole...same ole for next year guys.

I'm generally a fan of Garrett, both as a human being and a coach. His scheme is just disastrous and outdated though, and I'm about to the point where I want a new HC.

I'll overlook some time management gaffes, clapping, etc, in favor of his other positive coaching skills. But not at the expense of having to stay in this awful offensive scheme.

Just a comment on the predictable fans.Where you come up with blaming the fans
for the season is missing the point. There have been many factors we all know what they are
but the lame and tired fits over whatever perceived wrong and throwing it at Red or Jerry
is so over simplified its tiresome. We all have our opinions I should get used to this one.

no need for tanking.the odd of them winning another game even if they play at 100% is low a long as they play the patented conservative Garrett way.

He didn't give us anything last year.

Tony and the OL did. This is still the same garbage offensive scheme that got us to 8-8 three years in a row.

That would be from your post. Where you criticize fans who are disappointed in the job that Garrett is (and isn't) doing.

There have been many factors we all know what they are
but the lame and tired fits over whatever perceived wrong and throwing it at Red or Jerry
is so over simplified its tiresome.

How is it "oversimplified" to criticize everyone involved? It's not like they've done such a great job in that many other areas either. Take a good look at 'the process" and then look at its' actual results. Look at what Garrett has said and then look at what Garrett has done. Anyone taking an objective look can see ample room for criticism.

We all have our opinions I should get used to this one.

It's one supported with evidence anyway.

That's the funniest part of it to me. Like it's up to them how things will go. Like they can turn it on and off and suddenly become a good team because they really want to.

They're completely Romo dependent with underachievement happening across the board. Nobody is performing up to expectations.
