Honestly not sure it's going to make a difference if they try to lose or not.

The team isn't as good as last year all around but the QB position is just an anchor.

it's not, they are going to lose organically.. the team nor the coaching is any good

  1. To tank on the season is unthinkable and unconscionable. Players put too much into preparation for a season to not give effort. A coach who causes the team to tank with the game plan, substitutions, or play-calling will lose any respect he has from players.
  2. Your ability to hit big with a player at #6 isn't that different from your chances of finding a bust at #2.
  3. As stated in a recent article, why would the Cowboys even consider tanking...they've gone 3-8 after a 2-0 start while actually trying to win. There's no reason to tank intentionally.

What would be bad is if the Cowboys do go 5-1 or 6-0 (which would mean Garrett keeps his job) and they still don't get in the playoffs.

That right there will give fans so much false hope.

Garrett keeps his job regardless of what the record is this year.

Romo missing most of year makes Moore point mute. I think most fans will give Cowboys a mulligan this year. The cowboys need top 5 pick.

There is so little generosity in some fans it's......well its doesn't surprise
He gave us a great ride last year I was fully stoked. This year has been
so dis appointing I can't believe. But too late? I wonder what breed that in some fans?

Yea, I don't get the fans either.........I mean, one single season with more than 8 wins over a 6 year period should be more than enough!

Dam these fans are a bunch of ingrates.

thats one angle to look at it another is the progress that you and I could see.
Im not going to bother reiterating the problems that befall this team this year
Red wasn't prefect and lots of work to be done
the rebuilding is finished I'll hope for better luck next season
Red's going no where

Of course Red is going nowhere, I fully expect him to be the head coach for many more seasons.

However, lets not pretend that he is doing some fantastic job here. Other than the Bengals and Marvin Lewis, I cannot think of too many teams in the NFL that would keep a head coach that posted more than 8 wins over their first 6 seasons as head coach. There have been many other coaches that have been hired and turned programs around much faster and with much better results than Garrett has. That is not taking a shot at Garrett or dogging him or anything, that is just simply stating facts.

Now you can list all the excuses as to why Garrett has not had more success, but at the end of the day he is the head coach and he is responsible for the performance of his team. Now you can say the players don't make enough plays, but at some point over 6 years the head coach is responsible for the players on the field. If the players suck, its on Garrett to get new players and when the new players turn out to suck (see Brandon Weedon), then the head coach is responsible for that as well.

I guess my entire point is that Jason Garrett is responsible for the performance of his team and in professional sports that is usually indicated in the wins and losses column, especially your 6th year on the job.

The gm is more responsible for more of the problems during garrett's tenure than the coaching and we know that isnt changing much. This is not the same situation as other teams have.

Fans pay alot of money to go watch games in person.

It seems very wrong to tank IMO!
