it's sunnier than the Norval bandwagon

smarter too :D

Well I was never too happy about Norv.

I was on my own "any change is good" bandwagon.

I might have to jump on your Singletary/Rivera/Garret bandwagon.

I'm thinking about it, too - except with completely different people. :D

I have no idea why anyone thinks Rivera as a DC for this team is a good idea. We're so far from capable of running his defense it ain't funny. Singletary....eh, whatever. Garrett - why don't we let him earn the job over the guy who was a driving force between the 4th-scoring offense in the league last year.

Jerry apparently said that there was someone else that he wanted to speak with in Miami.

Rivera does scare me a bit if we have to make a switch back to the 4-3.

But I think if Singletary and Rivera work togther the 3-4 is still a viable option.

Phillips would be my #1 but it doesnt seem like this is gonna happen.

I think its pretty obvious Norv is FAR from any lock whatsoever that some have claimed

that's not a bandwagon, that's like being Switzerland in WWII

I think it has more to do w/ Singletary's interview casting doubts whether Norv is the best man for the job, and it's only going to be a few more days till Jerry will have the chance to interview Rivera

Don't you think it could have a lot to do with the negative vibe Jerrys supposed to have gotten from others pertaining to Norv? According to some in the media the response to Norv outside of Troy hasn't been great.

Did Philly run the Tampa 2 when Rivera coached LB's there? Rivera played in the 46 defense in Chicago and also said he would be comfortable with a 3-4.

I have no problems with this guy because I think that no matter the defense, there will be pressure on the QB.

And then we still have 4-3 people running our 3-4. :(

Phillips is the #1 candidate IMO. I agree. Nothing makes more sense. We don't even need to make many hires if he comes in and brings the defense.

that could be it too, but that's not a good sign, I want Jerry to do the hiring that makes the most sense, or what makes more sense than hiring a never-was

Maybe. Chicago's defense just gets so much pressure from their front four. Maybe we could too if we went back to a one-gap system. Spears allegedly can play that spot pretty well.

:laugh2: try the past couple of months

I think this has more to do with not diminishing the Super Bowl than anything else.

Either way the rumors this weekend should be fun.

BTW, Did anyone hear Jerry was sighted at Joes Stone Crab having dinner with Jimmy???:D

:laugh2:

I don't think so! Jerra is bigger then any stupid SuperBowl...he could care less! As a matter of fact, it just might be the opposite? He might make an announcement one hour prior to the game, (if I know JJ)...

:laugh2:

Jerry is not trying to not steal anybody's thunder. It is just the opposite and I am surprised most here have missed it. This is a business and Jerry became a billionaire becuase he knows a thing or two about business. I would have been shocked if an HC announcement came before the Super Bowl. Not because I thought he wanted to wait for Rivera or Caldwell or anybody else. Waiting is not a problem. We are the only team in the league without a HC in place, so we are not competing against anybody. Waiting passed the Super Bowl never had any negative consequences. In fact, waiting expands the talent pool so to speak. Anyway, the reason I never expected an announcement before the Super Bowl is because all the NFL talk leading up to the big game revolves around three teams: Chicago, Indy and Dallas. To be just as big a story as the two Super Bowl teams is incredible. Jerry could not buy that kind of publicity. I suspect the Parcells retirement announcement may have been put on hold to give this story legs leading up to and passed the Super Bowl. Go ahead and rip me now.

The commish would have to tape Jerry's mouth shut to keep him from breaking the news in Miami if he's made up his mind. :D

Yeah, seems like Singletary is losing some spark as well. Rivera certainly will trump him.

That won't do any good because he will just talk out his arse!
