Agreed. Here's to hoping that he trusts his injured leg to step up this week and that his leg doesn't let him down.
Totally agree. It's funny, when it was Jacobs running, they seemed to do ok. Jacobs went down and this Ward dude stepped up and it's like the 'boys couldn't handle him.

Spencer has admitted that he still struggles with his run responsibilites, so if Ellis can help in any way, then go Ellis.

Didn't most of Ward's runs come after Ferguson's injury? I think some of his success in running as well as he did was due to Ferguson's absence in the middle also.

I believe that is a record for first 11 starts.

yes it did. Also, two different styles. We were more prepared for stopping the power running of Jacobs.

Exactly. They didn't run wild until Fergy went out. Unfortunately, that's a huge, huge injury for us. :(

And our pass rush will be tons better with Ellis in there. Even if just in spot duty at first, he'll help a lot.

That's true, too. And like Smith22 mentioned, the team was probably more prepared for the power running of Jacobs than the shiftiness of Ward.

Overall, it was just a combination of crap that contributed to the sucky play.

Jerry gave T.O. halftime pep talk
The first pass he caught was high and behind him, but he made a nice adjustment to catch it.
His first TD was a great catch!

Ellis could be back next week
OLB Greg Ellis told Calvin Watkins that he will try to practice Wednesday.
I look forward to getting Ellis back, and seeing him with Ware & Spencer on passing downs.

Garrett won't take foot off gas
I love Garrett's aggressive approach, .. I know we would have run three times at the end last night to run the clock and then punted in recent years.

Reeves has head up high
Tough WR and QB for Reeves to start against, but I think he did well all in all. The experience will help him a lot.

Guess he's over the Seattle Slip
Maybe we can stop talking about the botched FG in Seattle now.
Romo looked real good last night.

Wade Phillips has said he'll come up with ways to get Spencer, Ellis and DeMarcus Ware on the field together on obvious passing downs.

This is an interesting thought. I do not know what surprised me more last night. The lack of pressure from the Cowboys (yes I know they got some) or how well the Giants offensive line actually played. While both are the same thing, they are two different causes. (great pass rush and great blitz pickups) I expected a lot more pressure.

"Rather than dwell on what happened in the first half, he stepped out there and made those plays for us," Jerry said. "Of course, they were real difference makers, but what’s neat is to see him have a slow first and come back in the second."

Nope. You have to get his hands on the ball in the first half. It could be the difference in the total score. Not having an extra 7 points going in at half time or having 7 extra points going in at half time.

I dont care if its only and end around play... something... he has got to be involved early. It changes the whole complexion of the game.

Even the Pats got Moss in the game early after not targeting him right away. They waited almost 10 minutes into the 1st qtr. Then Moss was off and running.

We have our very own THREAT... he has to be used as that ..... A THREAT. Teams get a little confidence when they are shutting him out for a first half. NOT good.

If they want to keep T.O. happy 2 TDs per game will certainly do it.

If were able to consistently get TO 2 TD's per game... defensive coordinators would lose sleep a week before they played us.... AND.... they would over compensate to cover TO that the rest of the players on offense would look like veteran pro bowlers.

Lets see... 2 TD's per game x 16 games.... HEY... thats 32 TD's in one season... whats the record?

The Air Romo era is upon us.

Hey, if he turns into Brett Favre, Jr. (minus the regrettable tendency toward boneheaded throws), I won't complain...

That is crazy scary. I remember those games when Warner was just lighting defenses up. Hopefully Romo will have more than3-4 good years before fading back into oblivion like Warner did.

Wow... really Todd Pinkston... incredible..... :lmao2:
Actually, Pinkston was the record holder at one time with 30 touchdowns in a single season!

Then the NFL subtracted 50 drops. He ended up with minus 20 touchdowns and that was that. Great golf score though... :)

This is indeed a pick your poison style offense. Too bad Glenn is probably out for the season; I would have loved to see what this offense could have been with him, but I am not complaining one bit.

I will say it again: Its good to see us actually playing to win instead of playing not to lose.

The thing that impresses me the most about Mr. Moxie (besides his ability to convert 3rd downs from any distance) is the way he spreads the ball around. He doesn't fix on one receiver and try to force plays. He reads his progessions, finds the open receiver and makes plays. Romo is going to be real good in this league.

Agreed!

And its why I am less concerned about Glenn's absence than I might be otherwise. If you got game at all as a receiver, Romo will give you a chance to show it.
