At some point, folks should learn to ignore certain members when it comes to some topics. You kinda gotta know that they're going to take the opposing position of whatever the popular opinion is of a thread...just for the hell of it.

There's not gonna be alot of meat on the bones of articles at this time of year. I mean, we had a freaking article about Dez tweeting "Up" posted here for God's sake. I'll take a feel-good, PC filler article, about a Cowboy fan getting a chance at his dream than that crapola any day. You can miss me with the, "Oh they should've asked about this skill or that skill."

It's the offseason. They're practicing without pads. Take what you can get and be happy you getting it. I remember a time we didn't even get THESE types of articles.

It was actually a good article and offers some good insight into one of our Dallas Cowboys players competing for the starting RB position. Very little is known about Williams, so any insight should be a welcomed addition and a topic for discussion this time of year. No one knows what the future holds for Williams, but with a little background we should be able to appreciate his journey. He said all the right things, so maybe everyone's superfluous questions will be answered on the field very soon.

I watched this kid play in high school and I knew he would make it to the NFL then. I also thought he would do well. He has the skills to be a top RB. His body just needs to hold up.

Hopefully our offseason/medical program helped him get back to where he needs to be physically.

I think he stayed partly because he wants to play for the Cowboys and partly because he knows his body hasn't fully healed yet.
If he gets and stays healthy, he's going to be dangerous.

Williams may be one if the best runners to ever be 5'9" and run a 4.61.

Not your ideal measurables. But mentally he is tough as nails and his legs never stop moving and he has excellent vision. Just some reasons why I think he may be our 3rd down back.

Emmit Smith was 5'8" and ran a 4.65 at the combine. Not saying Williams is Emmit but you can't judge a player's skills just by stats alone.

What was great about Emmit was his vision and his ability to maneuver in small spaces. Like you said, Williams has very good vision, very good at setting up his blockers and hits the hole quick. This is why I think with our OL, he can have an excellent season if his body holds up.

I agree. The signing bonus was almost like a big "thank you" from the Cowboys for not leaving. I think Williams might've gotten some indication Murray was on his way out and the starting running back job was going to become up for grabs.

yes it is apparent that he knew if he waited it out he could make as much here, and maybe a more stable position that he also liked.

about murray,. I never thought about the state income tax thing, so I wonder if he thought about that, or just signed too quickly ??
Would he really make that much more in philly after taxes?
The guaranteed money was 20 mil to dallas 12 mil so that is a factor too, but all things considered he maybe should have signed for less here.

to paraphrase Williams.............My mom single-handily raised 3 kids with limited financial means and now I have wages that allow me to live quite comfortably and should allow me to tend to my family......Why chase the winding path of money, which may or may not lead to happiness, when I can walk the straight path to happiness.......I am a lifelong Cowboys fan, they gave me a shot, and I am going to see it through to the end before looking at other alternatives....Working hard and waiting for my turn, not letting my pride cause waves, but instead, supporting my teammates even if I don't get to play.....After the injury and the rehab, nothing can phase me now, I am so strong mentally, emotionally, and physically......oh and I have God on my side.

I love how level-headed he is, how mature he is. I am very glad he is a Cowboy. The guy can run the rock with power and purpose. He has some burst to his game as well. If he can become close to the blocker that Murray was, we will have ourselves an absolute gem. He is a player I am looking forward to watching come training camp and preseason. I really hope good things come for him while wearing the Star.

I just enjoyed watching him play at Lane Stadium. I sure wish the kid the best.

My whole life changed within a week. I asked my trainer that diagnosed me – because they couldn’t find my kneecap – so then when they were searching for my kneecap, they told me that I had tore my patella tendon. I didn’t even know what that was at the time. I asked when I will be back. They said you can be healed, but you probably never be the same. That runs through my head. Every single day. So when people asking me about me getting my knee scoped out or when my knee’s swelled up, you got to understand what I’ve been through. When I’ve been through having a swollen knee, having a knee scoped, that’s noting compared to having your kneecap in your thigh.

Pretty gruesome detail. The average person doesn't have the faintest idea what it takes for these guys to play or come back from serious injury to play.
That's why I said he wasn't ready. Many think it's just about his ability. It's not. I've said all along he wasn't healthy, wasn't a 100 percent to where he could play. That's why he probably stayed on the practice squad. The Cowboys want him at tip-top shape and peak performance and likely convinced him he wasn't ready and would risk injury going someplace else and being thrown into the mix.
He needed to get stronger and to a place where he can help carry the load until he builds to full strength and possibly take the majority of the reps, if he can beat out other backs.

I'm pulling for him. I think he can be a beast in this offense running behind this line, assuming he can stay healthy.

I hate him because he's not DeMarco Murray.

I did too but I don't hate him anymore after reading the story and watching that video. I feel his passion and the genuine place where it originates. I'm rooting for him now.

He's still not DeMarco but I think I'm moving past that now. DeMarco isn't coming back and he chose to go to the worst possible place. Good luck to him in the depths of hell AKA filthy. I wish he and the team could have met somewhere in the middle but that's all history now. In the present, I look forward to seeing what Ryan can bring to the mix. I'm not impressed with DMC or Randle and still maintain hopes that we become that innocent 3rd party benefactor from the newly developed fault line that now exists between AD/AP and Minnesota.

"Murray told everyone in the press conference he went to Philly because it was his best chance to win a Super Bowl."
I really think he meant philly was best chance as opposed to Jags and Oakland.
and he didnt say super bowl he said championships.
he was just trying to say something positive to the philly fans, not insult dallas.
