If JPP's hand has significant nerve damage, the Giants most likely will revoke the franchise tag and allow him to become a free agent.

I would pay good money for the game to open with a spectacular fireworks show and NBC trained a camera right at Pierre-Paul when they initially go off. I would be lmao if he flinched or ducked his head when the pops started. I have no clue what my reaction would be if he instinctively grabbed his injured hand to shield it.

Lots of butt hurt over here in the NYC area. I've had to restrain myself from cracking any jokes like I do in here which is saying a lot because I know if it this happened to a Cowboy my Facebook would be flooded with memes about it. Everyone was spouting off about the RoMac suspension but they all shut up double quick after the JPP incident. I feel bad for the guy. I wouldn't wish that on anyone. But since it happened, I'm just glad it happened to them and not us.

But you have to think that he's laying in bed thinking, "Man, If I had only been grateful for the 60 Mill offer and done my job." Anything can happen in between contracts. I hope Dez is watching.

It'll prob be Tyron vs Odiggy. If they play 50 snaps against eachother I like Tyron in 49.9 of them. After all, no one is perfect

LOL!!!

Rodney Dangerfield would love this thread - and don't forget to visit the salad bar after the show.

I think it means that he likely has 3rd degree burns and the deepest layer of skin is burned and that is where all the nerve endings are located. There is a great risk of infection because the skin is no longer a barrier to germs. The skin won't regenerate and scar tissue will have to form which is not as tough or flexible as your skin. He will still be able to move his hand normally but it will take a long time to reach anywhere close to full functionality. And yes, there will be pain.

Hard to tell the severity from reports, but it sounds severe enough to be season threatening.

Actually nerve endings are in all layers including the superficial ones
That is why when you touch something lightly with even the tips of your fingers you can tell about hot/cold etc
That is all nerve endings relaying info to your central nervous system

If I were the Giants, I'd be like "REALLY!? You're a millionaire! You pay somebody else to light the fireworks!"
Well, it is football and not rocket science.

I know the Giants running game ain't great but I didn't think they had resorted to Pierre Paul taking handoffs...
