I think Austin is a gone. The only thing keeping him around was his KR ability. We drafted 2 guys who are good KR's, no need to keep Austin.

Enjoy Garrett because he isn't going to be around here much longer.

Why? I think it was clear he intends to stay In Dallas for awhile when he turned down both the Baltimore job AND the Atlanta job.

Anyone care to comment on the last player who came to Dallas and was described as having a gliding gate?

Emmitt? he is ok from the youtube videos I have seen of him. His speed is a question mark and i'm not sure he can take the pounding with his small frame. Every down back? doubt it

Having played just college football before (lower levels), I can tell you, nothing is off limits in a locker room. If you cannot take a joke about anything, you are in the wrong sport by far.

The bad thing is, once you show it bugs you, it only makes it that much worse in most cases. I've even seen coaches jump in on the trashing just for giggles when they know someone is an easy mark.

Locker rooms are meant to be fun, crack some jokes and just have a good time. I'm sure none of the guys there mean anything they say. Just have to know how to take a punch as well as give them out when someone tries to throw a jab your way.
I understand your point, but two things:

1) I just think when you're dealing with a celeb of that level, there's fallout regardless of whether you're joking and the Cowboys are tired of dealing with it.

2) Aren't rookies supposed to be seen and not heard? I think that's the side point of it all. A rookie cracking a joke about the QBs woman with no skins on the wall is probably a no-no, especially since even T.O. took some heat for it, even if he was "joking"

People have to look at Jessica as simply another guys girl friend and no more. You can't talk about someone's girlfriend like that, no matter what her status is, and I wish guys would understand this.

Also, love the report on the young WR, I hope this kids blows us away in pre-season.

Man, oh man. I love that.

Cricket putting on weight after an injury is a little disconcerting. Especially since we do not have anyone else at FB in case he sputters. Come on Cricket, I'm counting on you man.

Its another reason why I bet improving the TE position over Fasano was apparently a priority. I doubt we see a whole lot of the FB out there if Bennett ends up being able to learn the offense.

I don't see what Bennett said about jessmo was so bad? it was merely a compliment. I don't think they told him to cool it because she is Romo's but because the franchise as a whole is sick of hearing about her.

Guys in a locker room could really care less about status. In college, you could be banging the star players sister, which would easily be seen as a hot button topic, but guys just see that as easy prey. It isn't meant to be overly offensive, it's just how guys get along.

Bennett cracking the joke has little to do with what I am trying to convey. I am sure Bennett had the same thought process I did and did not know that something as silly as what he said would be a no-no among his peers.

According to what is said in the article, it isn't limited to just rookies, but everyone when it comes to Jessica. Just seems a bit childish if a grown man cannot take some ribbing by his teammates, who of course, won't mean a word of what they are saying. It's just all in good fun and trying to get some locker room laughs.

It's weird, but that's just how guys in locker rooms bond and get along.

Miles better get his resume together.....especially if Wes Jr makes this team.......

Martellus is notorious for shooting his mouth, buthe could be a STEAL for us this year...he is a natural athlete and as an Aggie who watched him the last fews years he can block because coach Fran's play book at A&M was...

1st down....RUN
2nd Down....Run
3rd down....Run....

Romo just better be glad Haley isn't around anymore. That guy was a nut and no one would tell him who or what he could pick on.

Like I said, I completely understand. What he said on the media call was fairly innocent and I'm thinking that within the lockerroom that's fine. Problem is Jess isn't simply the brother's hot sister. The media scrutiny of them outside the lockerroom is pretty intense. To keep it down, just don't say anything that can be misinterpreted.

I think the comment had more to do with the media than the actually comment. In the lockerroom, anything goes. But that is always away from the media.

Nope. Don't remember anyone ever saying ES was a glider.

"Any quarterback that can get Jessica Simpson," Bennett deadpanned, "I've got to play with him!"
