Bennet is making jessica jokes already.

If I were romo I would give this guy the business every single minute in camp, He would be my personal appointed slave. Im hungry, wheres bennet? Im hot and need a drink, wheres bennet? I need a new towel, wheres bennet? I am bored and need someone to make me laugh, wheres bennet? I need duck tape to tie a certain rookie to the goal post, wheres bennet?

I would not put up with that crap from a rookie for one second.

So Jenkins struggled his first day.

I bet he struggles in some games this upcoming season too.

Doesn't mean he is a bust (or will be a star, either)

Except, he was giving Romo a compliment....

Put me down as OFFICIALLY worried about Jenkins if he can't stop our FA WR 3/3 times.

Why did we give out big money to Cryton last yr? This kid Armendola is going to unseat Cryton as our 3rd WR. IF we can actually get a good 2nd WR on this team.

Wow, the kid does good against a rookie in helmets and shorts and is now all world and will beat out a guy who has been doing it for real in actual games.....overeact much?

How about Romo wins a playoff game, or doesn't choke in the last month of the season before you give him the type of respect a guy like Tom Brady or Peyton Manning deserve. Those are REAL QB's.

No kidding. I mean, Carpenter looked terrible and lost at his first mini-camp, and look how he turned out. Oh wait.

I am not sure why some are worried about Jenkins struggling. It was 1 on 1 drills, no? The offense has the advantage in those.

So nice to have some reports from the practice field.

It took T-New a little while to settle down when he first entered the league. I'm not worried about Jenkins.

Bennett's flamboyance should be entertaining (assuming it doesn't turn surly).

Well as a former receiver (semi-pro level) I would never do anything to upset or get on my QB's bad side. I was basically his best friend.

I would pass that advice to the young man if I could. ;)

I can see the SportsCenter headline right now:

"Which Dallas Cowboy rookie is already causing dissention in the locker room by cracking jokes at Tony Romo and Jessica Simpson? Tune in to SportsCenter at 6pm eastern time!"

It's the curse of #31. .

what curse?

the #31 that everyone spends most of their waking hours railing on was one of the most dominant playrs in the league his first 3 or 4 seasons...he made a ton of plays and lit people up what seemed liked every week

some of you people act like he sucked since the day he set foot off campus here...its really pathetic

Bennett didn't make the joke in the lockerroom, he made it to the media.

He's always had a huge mouth and loves playing up to the cameras. One FWST writer once said he's had more memorable quotes than memorable catches at A&M.

And you would find this ...

Any quarterback that can get Jessica Simpson, I've got to play with him.

.. offensive?

To me, it sounds like Romo is getting his panties in a wad over nothing. If someone cracks a joke in that fashion, so what? It wasn't offensive at all. If anything, it was a compliment about Simpson's beauty. And that deserves a talking to by the coaches?

If he were coming in here talking about keeping Simpson away from games because she is like the black widow, then maybe I would see that worth even a mention in the paper. But really, for the comment he made? C'mon!

It's just silly on Romo and the coaches part.

Really it shouldn't be personal with anyone, whether you like him or not. It's just business.

It doesn't matter what he used to do. The guy is bad now and that is all that matters. It's not any different than any other player who used to be good and can't play anymore. It's time to move on from Roy as soon as the cap allows.

it isnt personal, its just people in this forum practice way too much revisionist history

imagine the garbage we'd have heard in 92 and 93 when Charles Haley managed 6 sacks and 4 1/2 sacks in those seasons...

The Seinfeld jibe should have told you my post was tongue-in-cheek. Then again, even you seem to think his best days are far behind him. His contributions in past years are duly noted, but that helps us in 2008 ... how? Every year we talk about him playing closer to the line of scrimmage, and every year it never happens.

Albert Breer E-mail News tips

Here are a couple things from the afternoon session ...

1) Bradford makes play: Stanford product Mark Bradford, the hero of the Cardinal's shocker over USC last week, got Orlando Scandrick crossed up on a double move and hauled in a ball 60 yards downfield on a skinny post. That passed for the play of the day in a short practice.

2) Scandrick looks solid: To me, the Boise State CB was the best defensive back on the field today, when you put both the sessions together. He sticks with receivers, and has the athleticism and explosiveness to drive on the ball. Outside the Bradford catch -- which came with Scandrick right there with him, even after he got beat -- the former Bronco had a big day.

3) Jenkins bounces back: After a rough start this morning, first-round pick Mike Jenkins was solid this afternoon. It's not likely he was suddenly Champ Bailey out there and, a lot of the time, he was playing 8-10 yards off the receiver, which made it tough to defend the slants and shorter out-cuts. But he was close on everything. He still is a step late quite a bit, though.

4) Amendola slides back: By the time Danny Amendola finally dropped a ball, it was actually surprising to see. He shouted, "Son of a gun!" (And that's not even cleaned up) into the air, and that set off a little bit of a bad streak for the Tech-ex. He dropped a couple more, and fell down on a route after that, so this afternoon wasn't quite as strong as this morning.

5) Bartel's big day: OK, I wasn't watching him that closely -- I tend to discount what QBs do with no pass rush in their face -- but from what I did see, and what people around, like Archer, were saying, Richard Bartel played well today.

=================

Where do I get my Scandrick jersey? :D
