I don't think that it bothered Romo or John Garrett.

Where does it say Romo is causing the stir??

I bet it's more the org than Romo. I'm sure the DAL players all crack jokes on Romo IN THE LOCKER ROOM.

Who said Romo had anything to do with it?

Maybe the fact that Wade said so himself when asked about Bennett's comment.

Bennett gets a talking

The Cowboys were a bit upset with second-round pick Martellus Bennett, a tight end out of Texas A&M. During a conference call Saturday with the media, he made a reference to Jessica Simpson, Tony Romo's girlfriend.

"Any quarterback that can get Jessica Simpson, I've got to play with him," Bennett said.

The Cowboys called Bennett and addressed the comment. Coach Wade Phillips acknowledged Sunday that Romo has had enough of comments about Simpson.

To further address your end comment jcr -- have you even read what Martellus said? It was a freakin' compliment. It was not even a joke, jab, rib or whatever you desire to call it.

Let me post it again so you can see it again ..

If some guy wants to compliment the beauty of my girlfriend and it gets me ticked off, then I have more problems than I know.

Tony needs to relax and realize that getting upset every time someone even mentions his girlfriends name will not do him, Jessica or the team any good. If someone throws a jab your way, just throw one back, have a laugh and let that be the end of it. No reason to get a teammate bad press for a simple comment he made.

No worries regarding the Jessica thing. From what we know of Romo's and Bennett's personalities, those two will have a blast playing together. Same goes for Amendola. In one of his quotes I believe he said something along the lines of, "We can't play this sport forever, so I just try to go out their and have fun".

Oh ya they'll fit in nicely on this team. Especially in an offense led by a guy like Tony "at the end of the day" Romo.

This offense just got a whole lot more exciting.

Yeah but Bowles isn't coaching the secondary anymore. ;)

Interesting.

Roy's problems have only been due to poor coaching?

Put me down as OFFICIALLY worried about Jenkins if he can't stop our FA WR 3/3 times.

Aw, Jenkins was probably just hung over... cut the guy a little slack...

Why did we give out big money to Cryton last yr?

He had pictures of Jerry with an underage sheep... this is what they call "job security"...

Bennet is making jessica jokes already.

If I were romo I would give this guy the business every single minute in camp, He would be my personal appointed slave. Im hungry, wheres bennet? Im hot and need a drink, wheres bennet? I need a new towel, wheres bennet? I am bored and need someone to make me laugh, wheres bennet? I need duck tape to tie a certain rookie to the goal post, wheres bennet?

I would not put up with that crap from a rookie for one second.

Yeah, I'm sure you'll get right in his face, if he's 6-6, 260 pounds...

Or in his chest... LOL...

Austin is a better receiver then Hurd. Hurd cannot get seperation, Austin can.

Austin has better speed, but his hands are made of stone. Hurd pretty much catches anything thrown his way. I betcha(hypothetically) Ammendola beats Austin out of a job.

I guess I really don't see much upside to either of these two. Hurd can't get open and Austin can't catch the ball. I don't know if either can overcome his deficiencies.

Interesting sty on Channel 5 news 6 p.m. tonight ...

Seems Roger Staubach lobbied Cowboys brass to bring in Amendola. A few weeks ago they were both in some kind of 4-on-4 tournament and Roger was impressed, and called some powers-that-be at the Ranch.

Roger was quoted on camera ... said it was the first time he ever did anything like this as far as a recommendation of a player.

You'll probably read about this over your corn flakes tomorrow morning.

Yeah - I got my eye on this Danny Yamaguchi kid!

What good is separation if you can't catch the ball?

Alexander Wright got separation too, didn't do him much good.

he never got any separation either though...in addition to bad hands, he just had no skills for the WR position

one of the alltime great combine workouts though

And what was his recorded 40-time?

About 4.13 or something crazy like that?

You say that like it's something really bad..........don't knock til you try it, although older, more mature sheep are better IMO!

And to think, after we chose him in the 2nd rd, some team offered their next years 1st rounder for him and Jimmy turned them down. Anyone remember what team offered us their pick, and what player they eventually chose?

Austin can't catch the ball. Hurd is three times the special teams player Austin is. He just makes plays when he is on the field.

it was ridiculous as I recall...so were alot of his other numbers like high jump, bench press and some of the other timed numbers

as I recall he had one or two huge games at run oriented Auburn, everyone thought after that combine workout he'd really take off in the NFL...but it never happened

Miles Austin sucks as an NFL receiver, end of story. He may be a good athlete, but the world is full of good athletes.

What worries me about Austin is that in games his hands are inconsistent.

I'm curious if his hands are more consistent catching passes in practice?

He doesn't appear to be natural at catching balls, IMO.
