Can anyone explain to me why we are using a physical cornerback 10 yards off receivers?

By the way great start for Amendola, but it's much different with the pads on, so we will see.

To me, it sounds like Romo is getting his panties in a wad over nothing. If someone cracks a joke in that fashion, so what? It wasn't offensive at all. If anything, it was a compliment about Simpson's beauty. And that deserves a talking to by the coaches?

Who said Romo had anything to do with it?

Aahhh... that feels good, a real football fix. This will have to keep me going for awhile.

Jason Garrett's presence in the organization cannot be overstated. It's Superbowl or bust this year, and if it's bust, we better have Garrett at head coach next season.

I figured Austin as a longshot to stick around this year, looks like those odds just got a little bit longer.....

Parcells used to gush about him - maybe he'll give us a pick for him if there is no room on our roster. Maybe a conditional 7th.

Austin is a better receiver then Hurd. Hurd cannot get seperation, Austin can.

Anyone care to comment on the last player who came to Dallas and was described as having a gliding gate?

Hambrick right?

Oh wait that was "stumbling"

wrong adjective.

Our certainly coaches disagreed last season, given that Hurd was on the field for almost five times as many plays as Austin.

What did Martellus say about Jessica? I missed it.

He said she was a siren that would tempt Romo to the rocks and make him crash and drown.

Interesting sty on Channel 5 news 6 p.m. tonight ...

Seems Roger Staubach lobbied Cowboys brass to bring in Amendola. A few weeks ago they were both in some kind of 4-on-4 tournament and Roger was impressed, and called some powers-that-be at the Ranch.

Roger was quoted on camera ... said it was the first time he ever did anything like this as far as a recommendation of a player.

You'll probably read about this over your corn flakes tomorrow morning.

If he were coming in here talking about keeping Simpson away from games because she is like the black widow, then maybe I would see that worth even a mention in the paper. But really, for the comment he made? C'mon!

It's just silly on Romo and the coaches part.

Where does it say Romo is causing the stir??

I bet it's more the org than Romo. I'm sure the DAL players all crack jokes on Romo IN THE LOCKER ROOM.

That's a great story.

It'd be a thrill to be signed by the Cowboys under any circumstances ... but based on a recommendation from Captain America himself? That's the ultimate.

Amendola, here's wishing you the best.

You are exactly right, it was no big deal.

I don't think that it bothered Romo or John Garrett. I just think that John wanted to make a preemptive strike to make sure that it didn't go any further. Because when you have the media, fans, and even the President, making jokes about Jessica, the last thing that you need is to be hearing it from your teammates also.

it isnt personal, its just people in this forum practice way too much revisionist history

imagine the garbage we'd have heard in 92 and 93 when Charles Haley managed 6 sacks and 4 1/2 sacks in those seasons...

David

Roy has been pretty bad the last 3+ years. I don't see anything revisionist about it.

Having played just college football before (lower levels), I can tell you, nothing is off limits in a locker room. If you cannot take a joke about anything, you are in the wrong sport by far.

The bad thing is, once you show it bugs you, it only makes it that much worse in most cases. I've even seen coaches jump in on the trashing just for giggles when they know someone is an easy mark.

Locker rooms are meant to be fun, crack some jokes and just have a good time. I'm sure none of the guys there mean anything they say. Just have to know how to take a punch as well as give them out when someone tries to throw a jab your way.

Apparently this is not true if you are the franchise QB for the team.

Man, oh man. I love that.

Cricket putting on weight after an injury is a little disconcerting. Especially since we do not have anyone else at FB in case he sputters. Come on Cricket, I'm counting on you man.

What has Cricket been doing all offseason, sitting on the couch watching American Idol and eating Doritos by the bag?

Cmon Cricket, put the Krispy kreames down and get your arse back in shape. How is Felix going to hit the afterburners with tubby as his lead blocker?

So undrafted Danny Amendola is schooling first-round pick Mike Jenkins on Day 1 of mini-camp.

I don't know whether to :laugh2: or :bang2:

Either way, I'm not too surprised.

Hopefully Mike's "elite" athleticism can help him rebound.

Yea, I am surprised more posters have not commented about this. If Danny turns out to be Welker Jr, we will have hit the lottery again, but news of him raping the 1st rounder on day 1 of mini-camp is kinda disturbing.

Maybe it was just nerves for Jenkins, being day 1 and alot of eyes watching you. Please dont turn out to be a bust like Carp, please..........
