Don't worry. Winning will clear all "this" up before anything develops into a problem for the team.

Oh. It's January.

Nevermind.

You're being sarcastic, but it's true. Win a playoff game and no one gives a crap about whether a player was tardy to a meeting.

Miss the playoffs and every little thing gets scrutinized and is "part of the problem."

Exactly.

This ridiculous sketical behavior reeks of denial.

It should not take an article like this to make someone realize there are serious serious problems with this organization, starting with the environment created by ownership.

Nah, much easier to vilify the messenger by impugning Watkins' motives.

I agree with this.

Jerry Jones needs to be made a fool of. If anything, this article is a shot at Jerry. He is once again, the big enabler.

All he did when he hired Parcell's was tease us, he never changed, he just took a breif vacation, and now Mr. Burns is back.

Messenger? What was he telling us that we didn't already know other than tardiness of players? Everything else in there was already reported. He just cobbled together every negative thing he could think of.

Actually it can be. Before Jerry yelled at the media, everyone was saying Wade Phillips was gone. Before St. Louis hired Spagnuolo, everyone in the media said Garrett was a done deal.

Just because it's reported in the media doesn't mean it's true. I'm sure there there were players that were late, but the extent to which that affected anything or was a problem is up in the air.

There's a difference between jumping the gun and making news up. Sure the media jump the gun with Garrett. They might have been even right and something at the last minute changed that the deal didn't go through or the sources were flat out wrong. It happens.

However, reports like this are rarely, if ever, made up. This are specifics with names, times, and places. About the only thing left is to name the source outright, which will never happen nor should it ever happen.

BUT, I have a simple solution for this particular problem. Starting this offseason, all meeting hall's doors will be locked at the exact time that the meetings are supposed to start. If you're not at the meeting, and you don't have a valid execuse such as: you're in the hospital, your family member is in the hospital, or you're involved in an accident, you will NOT participate in the meeting. Since you did not participate in the meeting, you will not only be fined a substancial sum of money, but you will NOT participate in practice ( during the season ) therefor you will NOT play in the game. I DON'T CARE WHO YOU ARE !

Listen man, there's a point where you have to realize that the media is not making this up. Too many people saying, pretty much, the same thing cannot all be false.

This article doesn't lay the entire blame on anybody in particular, but points the finger at the most visible figures of the organization.

I'm sorry, but I just don't believe this is made up crap.

:starspin

Indeed.

The infighting and pervasive lack of cohesiveness should be obvious, at this point. The investigative reporting of sports writers and journalists isn't even necessary to discern the problems with the Cowboys organization.

We need only listen to the recent comments of Jason Garrett, Patrick Crayton, and Bobby Carpenter. We need only go back a few months and listen to TO and Tony Romo criticizing the play calling and offensive system.

In my opinion, those who refuse to acknowledge the real chemistry problems on this team are blinding themselves.

If true, pretty damning.

But doesn't it just confirm what we've suspected all along?
That Wade is spineless and Jerra finally has what he wants -- a brown-noser who will do as ordered.

Only Jerra is in charge and the players know it and they take advantage of it.

If the tardiness was the only thing you got from this article, then you are really burying your head in the sand.

Sorry, but your QB acting "offended" when he gets criticized by his coach is not "every little thing". Neither is the owner refusing to adjust the fine amounts at the request of his head coach (why should he have to ask, anyways?).

But I forget. According to you, it is all supposition and lies made up by Calvin Watkins.

I mean, he must really have an active imagination eh?

There were outright reports that Garrett was offered the job. I think that's "making things up."

And if Romo is among the inmates running wild, no wonder the last of the season went to Wadesville in a hurry.

Please, you're barking up the wrong tree. Did I say any of it was a lie? No, of course not.

If you're going to reply to me, don't mischaracterize my posts.

There are a lot of fans who operate under the assumption that successful teams are focused and disciplined teams ... the kind that wouldn't have significant issues with tardiness.

I assume that too, actually.

But maybe it isn't. Could be that the Patriots, Colts, Giants, Steelers have lots of players arrive late for practice. I doubt it, but it could be.

Well, I guess things should have turned out differently this season. If so, the media would have cowed themselves into not saying anything whatsoever about any player, coach and/or Jerry Jones after each and every victory. Yes. That's what has happened in the past when the Dallas Cowboys have won in the postseason.

Actually, this paints Phillips is a more positive light. At least he tried to adjust the fines because he thought it was a problem. That is not really brown nosing. When you boss refuses to do it, what else is he to do?

Only Jerra is in charge and the players know it and they take advantage of it.

The GM also being the owner makes every behavior magnified and carries supreme weight since the two are one and the same.

That the team is rife with dissension, ridiculously low fines, tardy players, late flights, poor practice routines, and petty jealousies. The paltry fines (esp Jerry's role in them) and late flights would certainly qualify as "new" news.

There were also reports that he was the frontrunner but in the end didn't get the job because of salary issues. Makes sense when its all put togehter.

really though i think there are too many specifics for this to be wholly fabricated. When they have an exact number of flights delayed and specific fine amounts that just speaks to good journalism to me. I'd would be curious to see how this stacks with other teams though.

I don't know what the reasons where, and it could be that this report is 100%dead on, but I did noticed that Romo was more undisciplined this year and his mechanics were off considerably. Now, part of the reason could have been the injury to his hand where he had to adjust his throws and developed some bad habits, part of the reason could have been the HORRENDOUS play of the O-line this year, but if this article is accurate, it sure explains a heck of alot about the Romo of this season.

I honestly have no idea whether it happens or not. People are late all the time for different things in the world I live in, so it wouldn't surprise me.

Regardless, my point is that if Romo doesn't break his pinky, we'd be in the playoffs and no one give two craps about any of this.
