doesn't the Super Bowl winner play the loser again in the next season? at least it used to be that way I think. I know we aren't playing the east. but if they did meet again, expect the Giants to get they donkey's stomped

Yep. They won the Superbowl so they can say whatever they feel like saying. There is nothing anyone can do about it till they knock them off next year.

I think I have had that in my library since the Campo years.

But it sure works now, I still have an empty feeling in my gut since the Giants game, see my sig line.

Oh, and I have a headache too ... :lmao2:
Yeah those were very painful years indeed, I believe he didn't have enough ammo for the gunfight because of the cap problems the team had back then, however he still wasn't my choice for coach regardless...

he should know, he was neutralized for much of the game

idk whether to take it as a real compliment, or Strahan just trying to find a way to diss New England

Well either way , he said it and it was printed for all the world to see! Aside from the Pats , I can see where that statement comming from a superbowl champ will eat at alot of teams....where or where are the Commanders trolls?

He just might have a valid point--at least I like the way he is thinking!

Seemed like pretty straight on comments, IMHO...Gotta give them credit, regardless of how painful it is...They played the way you want a team to play, from beginning to end with intensity...No excuses on losing to them, they didn't get ref bias and they didn't get lucky plays...They simply made plays.

Those last 3 minutes of the SB showed you everything you need to know about how the Giants closed out the season...Cowboys should take note, you shoot for December/January to take your game up another notch.

Respect

I thought I heard something like that on the radio so I came home as fast as I could to find out if it were true, and lo and behold here's a thread on it .(beat me to it)

Now do you guys see why I hate the gints soooo much.!!!!!!:banghead:

These guys can't even win with class.

I'm telling you ,if I were teams that lost to them recently I would make sure I kept a copy of the tape and I would play it every time we played them.

Especially The Pats. I know most don't like them but I would remember his comments , Come on now, If your a champion ,act like one ,not like trailer trash.

AAAHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:suxjints:any team but them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Only Strahan knows his true intentions by that comment. I lean slightly towards him complementing us.

We all know it to be true... as do many other sports fans.

It doesnt change anything though. He threw us a friggin bone. Whoopteedoo!

It appears that the NFC East is shaping up to be like the NFC East of the 90s.
You had to be tougher than the best team in the division to advance to the Super Bowl.

The Skins, Cowboys and Eagles had to beat the Giants. And then it was the Eagles who the Skins, Eagles and Cowboys had to beat. Then it was the Skins who the Eagles, Giants and Cowboys had to beat. Then it was the Cowboys who the Skins, Eagles, Giants had to beat.

And look how progressively better the teams got when they advanced to the Super Bowl - all except the Eagles.

The Giants D slowed down the mighty K-gun attack.
The Skins O line smashed the quick Bills D.
And then the Cowboys O line, power running game and quick, smothering D just brutalized the Bills.

Each year, a team in the NFC East knew it had to get better in order to take the next step.

The Cowboys have their challenge in front of them - be better than the Giants.

I believe we can take them and will be all the better when we do.

exactly, if 2 coaches can't advance past the the 1st round w/ largely the same team

it's probably the players

the game is 10% mental, 90% execution

same team? you telling me bigg, hamlin and another year of experience for the team meant nothing?

dood this was the 3rd and 4th years for these guys. this was our 1992. last year was 1991. and wade f***** it up.

The Giants won the Super Bowl because of the Cowboys, Eagles, and Commanders. It was the six games against those teams that allowed the Giants to play the way they had to against the Pats to beat them. I think the Giants being in the NFC East was a huge advantage for them having to play against very tough opponents. The Pats had it too easy in their division even though they did play the NFC East this year. But the Giants are used to playing NFC East football and it definitley benefitted them.

Maybe when fans of the NFC East say they take pride in a team from the division winning the Super Bowl, there is a lot more to it than any of us realize.

At least the team who knocked us off went on to knock of 2 more really good teams to win the Superbowl.

Exactely! This is what I said before the game. I was rooting for the NFC to win and now that the NCFE won, to me, it's even better. The eagles could not do it (no surprise there)...

But, I think the worm is turning. It's time for the NFC to rise back to the top...I'm sick of hearing about the AFC winning all those SB's!

The Giants are irrelevant...but, they are the Champs! Not the Patriots*...

The NFCE is beginning to remind me of the 70's.......There is no easy W anywhere. It will be a while before a team runs the table in the East.

I agree Cbz40...aside from the eagles of course! :D

The NFCE has always been the dominant division and I think when it all went haywire was when free agency and the SALARY CAP kicked in. The salary cap was the worse time because now the dominant teams had to give up the good players because they could not pay them to stay...hence the pansy football that we now see...(aside from the eagles who basically suck)!

The worm is turning now. The Cowboys, Commanders, and Giants are now alot stronger like it used to be...(well maybe not the Commanders since the Midget still owns them) but...I can smell something in the air...like the good old days.

Strahan surprisingly said the Patriots were not the toughest opponent the Giants faced this season.
"Trust me, that is the best team we played, the Cowboys," Strahan said.

I think the Buffalo game helped them more..... 5 or 6 turnovers(you cant give Eli TOO MUCH rope)..... they learned their lesson from that game - we didnt.

I agree. We say they underachieved with Wade? Fair enough they also underachieved with BP. So when do the players get held accountable for underachieving? These players get paid more than the coaches do and they have to step up and prove they can do the job, that they can focus on the job at hand. I don't think the team lacks heart or passion but I think we have guys who tend to lack focus within the game.

:hammer: Beautiful. Most dont want to put the blame on the likable players. So it's much easier to scapegoat the coaching staff.

The players on this team need to step up in playoff games. Wade didnt miss TO. Wade didnt drop passes. Wade didnt quit on routes. Wade didnt miss routine tackles. Wade didn't make the mental errors resulting in big gains and missed blocks.

This loss was on the players. The game plan featuring MBIII? I'm going to lose it if I hear more people say it was dumb. It was genius. The Giants strength is their pass rush. How do you negate a pass rush? Exactly. We beat them in the majority of ways, our players just didnt make the plays necessary to win.
