I don't think Troy is speaking directly about the monkey.....but more about the what is going on in the locker room. Losing 5 in a row can change players attitudes. Players will say the right thing in public and to the media, but behind the doors of the locker room all bets are off.
This!! In a losing situation, players start focusing on other things instead of losing each week which is a natural reaction. They are natural born athletes who have won most of their lives and don't know how to handle losing so they try to find joy in other things. It's what Jimmy Johnson walked into. It's one of the things (locker room issues) great coaches know how to handle to change the focus/atmosphere back to winning.
You think this would happen in the Patriots locker room? Highly doubt it. Watch the movie Money Ball, a great movie. I don't envision Garrett throwing water buckets and tables in the locker room but something has to be done to get this team motivated.
They are on their last breath for this season. They need a leader to rally around or a priest to give last rites. Just sayin.
