This.

As far as Aikman is concerned, the issue here ain't monkey. The issue here is Switzer.

I can see where Aikman would hear about Dez and his monkey and be reminded of the chaos of the Switzer years and think maybe the current team is in chaos; although, I think we all know that the current locker room is far far from whatever was going on under Switzer.

Dez can hire a full time Monkey Sitter; whereas, Oronde Gadsden probably could not. I envision the monkey having his own chauffeur, handler and entourage. We did just have an off-season where we found out that the Cowboys were very concerned about Dez spending all of his money because they put several unusual things in his new contract to delay when he gets the money. Those contract provisions didn't really help the team or the salary cap.

Meh. I just feel like Aikman has been unnecessarily hard on the Cowboys since Romo blew up in 07. I'm starting to wonder if he's upset about all of his records being shattered.

Like he's almost scared to say that the Cowboys are losing because they don't have Romo, and that Romo is the real heartbeat of the team.

That's the way he comes across to me, anyways.

I don't get that at all. Not sure where you got this hairball idea.

So if a fan has a pet cat in Dez...and Dez has a pet monkey...

They should suit up Dallas Bryant and put him in the line up. Wouldn't be the first time a monkey took part in a major sporting event, just google Jacko Flacko.

Nobody would be able to tackle him if they could just get him to run the right direction and stay in bounds.

Actually, if my Pit Bull who thinks he must have any ball that he sees was allowed to play LB, the monkey wouldn't have much success.

I doubt he's upset that Romo is breaking his records. Troy sacrificed numbers to lead a run-oriented offense. And one record Romo isn't close to breaking is Troy's three Super Bowl rings.

I'm with Troy on this one. He's a winner above anything else. He's not the type to be all fun and games when the team is a mess. If there's a leak on the ship he's up all night repairing the leaks. He doesn't strut off to shore looking for exotic toys. That must've been quite annoying for Troy seeing the team was a mess and guys (especially mediocre players) were bringing distractions into the locker room.

Troy was serious minded. He hated the frivolity Deion Sanders brought to the Cowboys locker room.

I'm not saying that you have to be all serious like Troy. But I understand his mentality, especially when your team is losing or you want to maintain a disciplined culture.

Switzer and Deion were the beginning and end of the dynasty. But keeping him away from SF bought us one more SB.....

Tony would of had super bowl rings by now with a good team. He had to carry this franchise on his back for years.

Yes, he has had to carry this franchise, and we've seen that very clearly this year. My comments are mainly aimed at those who somehow think Troy is upset or jealous of Romo. I don't believe that in the slightest because ...

1.) Troy was the epitome of selflessness, giving up huge passing numbers so the Cowboys could focus on running the ball and ...
2.) Troy is a three-time Super Bowl winning quarterback including a Super Bowl MVP. I'm convinced his rings have opened the door for his broadcast career, that and the fact that he's pretty articulate.

Based on those two factors alone, I doubt very seriously Troy is upset over Romo's success with the Cowboys.

I'm with him 100%, too.

Though I don't really think the current locker room is full of monkeys and people getting fitted for suits, either.

Personally, I don't see what's wrong with getting fitted for a suit in the locker room, unless you're supposed to be in film study or the weight room. Shrug.
