Step one in the "just win" process is benching Costa. Step two is Garrett improving upon some of his game-changing coaching and clock management errors.

Listen good Sir, I will ask you kindly not to bad mouth tacos in my presence.

Just because you have a chicken in your jeans it does not mean you have to go around and bad mouth tacos.

By the way did you know that hard shell tacos are not Mexican? They are American.

Is this the genesis for CowboysZone transitioning into a lobbyist group?

I'd be down with that.

We could formulate our recommended policies, document them and, with the connections here to scouting, media and Cowboys staff, get them submitted into the hands of the front office.

The Cowboys do listen to the public -- remember that Parcells played Drew Henson at the behest of the crowd.

intransitive verb

Hos, I have fought this fight in the past. It is unwinnable.

It is akin to witnessing an ant building a spaceship and fly itself to the moon.

It is not unlike wanting water to spontaneously convert into wine.

It's practically the same as mentally picturing Roseanne Barr morph into Beyonce. ( :puke: )

There are people in this world who choose not to cooperate or do not understand how to cooperate. It's the flip side of the human nature coin, my friend. Graphically speaking...

http://i356.***BLOCKED***/albums/oo4/DallasEast1701/f40d2ec5.jpg

...you're seeking the left object to fit through the right object without altering either object.

You want the impossible. You're a good guy, but you want Roseanne to look good in a bikini. It ain't happening... at least it will not be happening anywhere within the incomprehensively large universe that we know.

Great post, by the way. :)

Thanks Hos.

I have actually quit reading the fan zone because of all of the negativity.

I tell my employees that if they are going to complain then they have to offer a solution.

With this crowd, it ain't always easy.

For years, I griped about RWilliams(31) and was skewered for it.

I got the usual "what would you do?" argument, and the truth at the time was I didn't know what to do with him other than I wanted him off of the team for a litany of reasons with some of the most important reasons being that I felt he was a poor leader and possible detriment in the locker room. He was also limited in his abilities.

I felt the same about TNew and B. James, and Spears for that matter.

The point is that I'm sure some of you would like a "well, in the 2nd round I'd draft this safety to replace this guy and in the first I want a CB to replace that one" type response, but I fully confess not to be a talent scout who can name someone's replacement.

I just know a rotten apple when I see one, and while I might not know how to effectively plant seeds, grow an orchard, nurture and water said orchard, collect the bounty and ship the produce, I'm not going to sit silent if that rotten apple's in my pie.

That probably works too, since a paycheck provides some measure of incentive. It would take a lot more to convince some here to not gripe as their preferred method of 'discussion.' And that's an understatement.

Neither is anyone else on this board, though they like to pretend otherwise.

Well stated.

The trouble is when you try to fit everyone's use of a message board into what you personally think the message board should be. Don't just gripe translates to "either homer out with me or provide me with something I can nit-pick to pieces for 200 posts to tell you why you should be homering out with me."

Some people just like having a place to vent. Boards like this are better than kicking your dog.

See this is what I don't understand.

Tnew James and Spears were good players for this team. Not great but solid. Why would you want to get rid of the good players? Or did you come up with this idea after they got older and lost a step and now claim you knew all along??

What I find interesting is that Larry Lacewell twice was laughed out of the room for suggesting to give up an "entire draft" (more than likely first three draft picks) for a franchise QB. Both of those candidates were the Mannings.

Like most people, I have got serious things to worry about in my life and some of the things are major problems. I deal with some very serious situations from day to day. The last thing I am going to worry about is a fan message board or a poster's opinion. If they want to gripe , then do so. I really don't care. People take the message board business to damn seriously. It may hurt some feelings, but Jerry Jones or the Dallas Cowboys don't care about any of our opinions.

Evidently the message is not sinking in.

The very same people who have assured throughout the last umpteen years that this team is coming together still maintain they don't like nor understand the negativity.

Yet, these very same people don't think their position on Campo was negative.

So either I agree with you or I am negative. Great logic.

That makes this rebuttal post pointless, but I have OCD when it comes to mindless things such as this.

2259 words. If you posted it on smashwords.com and put a snazzy cover to it, you could hawk this for .99 a copy.

2259 words.

The point is this.

No more words.

Feel good commentary that goes on year after year only to be forgotten by the original commentators becomes the same thing from one regime to the next. You could virtually copy the same threads from 2009 and drop them here and merely change a few names and they say the same things.

No more words.

Show me.

Don't tell me. Show me.

Show me a disciplined team.

Don't tell me. Show me.

Show me less penalties that stop drives.

Don't tell me. Show me.

Show me a defense that can stop the other team late in games.

Don't tell me. Show me.

Show me a coaching staff that doesn't hoist themselves on their own petard by making boneheaded decisions.

Don't tell me. Show me.

Show me a head coach that can manage a clock late in a half or in a game.

Don't tell me. Show me.

Show me a special teams that can move the ball when we receive it and stop the ball when they do.

Don't tell me. Show me.

Show me wins in December.

Don't tell me. Show me.

Show me wins in January.

Don't tell me. Show me.

Show me play off wins.

Don't tell me. Show me.

Show me a seed in the NFC Championship game where win one and we have a shot at it all.

Don't tell me. Show me.

Show me a quarterback that doesn't get rattled, or tries to do too much, but just drives that bus, baby.

Don't tell me. Show me.

Show me a GM that makes wise moves then steps out of the way and the limelight to allow his coaches to do what they were hired to do.

Don't tell me. Show me.

The time for telling me after fourteen years of telling me and the results have been unsatisfactory have ended.

Don't tell me. Show me.

Too many times I have read the tell me why you don't see it my way.

Then a 19 page thread ensues where the people asking me to list my points try and deny each while assaulting me with insults.

Been there, and listed every issue I have with Jerry.

It is no longer about posts with 2259 words telling me why someone else thinks this is greatness.

I've seen that post in so many forms on this board from so many posters I have lost count.

It is not a dog chasing his tail.

It is simply a life long fan not listening to the huckster that owns and runs the team. Or the fans who each year sit at the poker table owned by the huckster and see the crappy cards they are dealt and are holding out for that one card that wins.

It is simply show me.

I bought the magazines, tickets, t-shirts, seats, parking passes, preseason game tickets, cable to see them play, products, read the newspapers, web blogs, internet sites and fanboy comments. Spent almost my entire life loving this team.

Been one since day one!

I have one thing I want. That is to win.

No more rhetoric, no more rancor, no more assurances, no more hopes and no more change.

Show me, because from here on out my mantra is simple.

No More Words...Just Show Me

I think they are actually Southwestern Indian. Now, if you want to say that this is American, OK. I wouldn't argue that too much but southwestern Indians also lived in Mexico so I don't know how that really goes.
