Do not challenge pass interference calls

This is not how football (or sports) work. You did exactly what I said you shouldn't do. It's poor logic. It's easy to fall into that trap, but you shouldn't do it.

There is no such thing as THE play, THE call, THE anything. It's the whole game that matters.
how about this shut it and deal..its a rule , its being enforced , role with it or you juts having a grips fest for something you cant change.. That Rams play was Horrible and yes its the reason ie catalyst to why the game changed in favor of the Rams..

it was put in place for these plays in these types of games, if it gets used on occasion for other things , fine I can live with it VS a team getting robbed of a win..

maybe it gets tweaked next year in the mean time you CANT CHANGE IT..FACT

Who said anything about changing it? You seem angry and unable to follow.

I pointed merely out the fact that you have a flawed view of individual plays. It's a common view, but still just as flawed. Stop falling into the trap.

the post says dont challenging and dumb rule, I say its rule that was needed.. Ive played football, watched it my entire life..I know one play or bad call doesnt necessarily lose game but I also know for fact it can at that moment it can effect momentum and take away a advantage that team had IE the Saints..sure some call balance out but in that game it for sure cost the Saints a SB, regardless of more time on the clock and what happened after wards.. get it..I do..move on..we need the rule maybe it gets tweaked and morphs into something better but the rams didnt belong in the SB and it showed..we as fans got robbed of classic matchup because of it..

If this rule was in place the Saints win that game, no doubt..they run clock go for few td attempts ,or kick fg...either way they about run the clock to zero doing do with a lead..the rule was needed and is not dumb and like everything else it has its downsides..

Seachickens had several crappy calls early against the Steelers in the super bowl.

ARI stopped PITT on 4th down and then got bailed out by a bad roughing call.

I think one call can definitely change a game.

If Bill O'Brien's challenge on the pass interference call was not overturned, none of them will be. That ball was 10 yards beyond a receiver running a comeback route.

Every route can be called pass interference, usually on both the defender and the receiver. It's going to be virtually impossible to reverse any of them.

This was a painfully STUPID rule change.

Garrett needs to keep his flag in his pocket on those all season.

I think it will serve teams better to challenge it when it is not called than to challenge it when it is. Most likely when it is called there is some sort of contact like on that play, so it becomes a judgment call about whether the contact affected the play, how it affected the play, etc.

The play against Dallas was illegal contact. Unless there is an avenue for changing the call to illegal contact, then you have to stick with the PI.

The PI challenge is strictly for PI. The receiver changed his route and the ball was uncatchable. Not PI. Illegal contact? Prolly, but that wasn't an option.

And if other calls go the right way against the Saints, they lose. Why is this so hard to understand? The Saints werr only in that position because of other plays before that. You can't just cherry pick the last screw up and pretend the others don't matter.

And none of that has anything to do with whether or not it's a good rule. It's just a fact of reality.

again you have no argument they made the rule because of that play.. apparently many dont agree with you Buh bye!:muttley::thumbup:

Here's to hoping this moronic challenging PI is done with at the end of preseason. It is a stupid rule change.

we agree it the other guy that trying to say it cant and when I say it I mean early on in a game its more easily overcome, but those late 2nd half game in critical situations like The Saints game, theres no time to fix that..the rule is well intentioned and hope over time it evolves and improved as it is in its early stages of implementation..

think abut this back in the 70s when we lost 2 SBs to the steelers on crazy kays, instant replay MAY have gave those games back to us? think about that..I know all IR can slow games and muddle flow but we need it , its why MLB is using it and experimenting using cameras to call balls and strikes now.

Millions, billions of dollars are at stake, jobs at stake, you have to try and get as close to perfect as you can..

It has to be really egregious. The little hand fighting and stuff that happens is not going to get called.
