Was that still the Air Coryell era? Who was there QB? Stan Humphries? I was 9.
You recall that or looked it up ? Who would remember Humphries?? Lol

No, Bobby Beathard was GM from Deadskins and how Humphries came over as he was a back up to Rypien when he won 91 Super Bowl.

Good trivia question. I could sorta see his jersey in my mind but not quite ...

There was a huge divide between NFC & AFC at that time as I recall. I think several NFC teams coulda hoisted the trophy against the Chargers. I know we coulda \ shoulda :(

This off-season, I've been trying my hardest to divest myself from all delusions about the Dallas Cowboys. I have even prayed while consulting the Magic 8 Ball, the most sacred sources of all truth.

The hardest truth of all to face: what if the Cowboys do exactly what they have done - make the playoffs but get bounced out again in the divisional round? What if it's against the 49ers?

I so want to make declarative statements and pretend that I have the strength to walk away from the Dallas Cowboys If needed. But the truth is that Jerry Jones and his marketing brilliance is too powerful to resist. I'll somehow get roped into one more season of delusion. Happens every season.

Before this thread gets deleted , are there any other brave souls willing to confess their hopelessness when it comes to the Dallas Cowboys?
Im not super bowl or bust fan its just not that serious. I will never walk away from the cowboys

That was well past the Air Coryell era. Dan Fouts was the QB during Air Coryell.

Is it so hard to be realistic?

I'd say it's a do or die 2 years

NFC can't go more than 2 years before it upgrades the qbs on other teams which makes our path harder

Dak will be 2 years older and possibly coming off his prime and the injuries may come quicker and mobility lessening

I'd go all in, salary cap be damned for the next 2 seasons......but as far as being a fan....there's no expiration on that

i didnt say i was entitled to anything
No but you said that you had seen 3 SB and that you now understand 27 years later why people were upset for nothaving another one.

You understand why fans are upset for not having a SB thus you understand and commiserate with those that feel entitled to a SB more often than 3 every 30 years.

Some idiosyncrasies are OK (I think). Heck I was glued to each Cowboys game back in 2015. Not saying I didn't b*tch & moan, but I still got excited each week.

I love pro football & this is my team.

What the heck is wrong with you? I implied no such thing and how you derive that anyone wanting to see their team in the superbowl before they die means they feel "entitled" is a far fetched linkage

You took a fun little post as a play on the ops post and turned it into something nefarious- totally unnecessary

So instead of addressing my logic you make it all ad hominem.

So what reason do you ascribe to justify being upset that the club has not won more than 3 SB every 30 years?

You literally took my initial post : "Please do cowboys, because every year more cowboys fans die without seeing another superbowl...I am only 40 and used to always laugh at those posts, but I get it now..."

and have taken it so far off the beaten path that i don't even know what point you are trying to make - i never said "entitled", I never said "upset", i never implied any of what you are trying to say....again was just trying to have a bit of fun and you are going so far off the rails dude...i am legit worried for your mental health, you ok man?

It's not "hopelessness". It's been "wait and see" for the last 27 years. There's always next year.

Not because of him or marketing but because of history.

I became an exclusive fan out of one of the toughest losses the team ever had, the Ice Bowl. They do not have to win to keep me.

I actually had to make a fan decision years ago on whether I wanted to be a Cowboys fan or not because of the owner. I decided if I was to continue, I would avoid any exposure to Booger, his face and mouth and have successfully done that and remained a fan. I only know what is brought to these forums regarding him, which is plenty enough.

They do not have to win to keep me. This
