So... out of curiosity how many teams have won 3 super bowls in any consecutive 30 year span anyway?

Just to be clear you have seen several SB wins in your lifetime and think you are entitled to more than 3 every 30 years?
You weren't asking me .... but yes I feel entitled. I signed up to a premier organization not a laughing stock!!

I coulda went with an organization with low standards if I'd wanted to be surprised when they won.

You literally took my initial post : "Please do cowboys, because every year more cowboys fans die without seeing another superbowl...I am only 40 and used to always laugh at those posts, but I get it now..."

and have taken it so far off the beaten path that i don't even know what point you are trying to make - i never said "entitled", I never said "upset", i never implied any of what you are trying to say....again was just trying to have a bit of fun and you are going so far off the rails dude...i am legit worried for your mental health, you ok man?
You get what? Why they have their feeling of entitlement? Why they are upset and complain?

There is no do or die when it comes to the Jones', or any sense of urgency for that matter. Neither one gets fired. To them, there is always next year. So might as well accept that fact and just play along and don't take it personal.

Thank you for bringing this back to the original point! As a fan I feel cheated. I will give MM credit because the team has improved every year so far. But even with that, why do I have doubts that things have changed? Part of me feels like Wade Phillips never left! LOL

I'd say it's a do or die 2 years

NFC can't go more than 2 years before it upgrades the qbs on other teams which makes our path harder

Dak will be 2 years older and possibly coming off his prime and the injuries may come quicker and mobility lessening

I'd go all in, salary cap be damned for the next 2 seasons......but as far as being a fan....there's no expiration on that
I have bad news for you.

I feel like this year they have a roster that could get them to a Super Bowl if things fall into place, like avoiding big injuries. But a lot of my thinking is based on the idea that Dak can manage this team to enough wins to get them there. Despite my misgivings about Dak, I am still holding out a bit of hope the rest of the team is good enough and he can manage not to screw things up too badly. This is a good football team. They can be a great football team if Dak has a good year.

But I also fear that if I am wrong, and Dak just does not have it in him to take them all the way, then they are years away from another shot, maybe too many years for me to see another Dallas championship in my lifetime. If Dak is not the guy then the Cowboys have a really big problem. His contract is up after 2024 and even if they choose not to re-sign him they will have $36 million in dead money to deal with. If they do want to re-sign him my fear is he will ask for $60 million per year and it will hamper the Cowboys ability to maintain a quality roster.

Perfect summary about Dak! To me he's earned the opportunity to start at least one more season to see if it is worth keeping him. In my mind, he has to play like a top 5 QB otherwise, it's not worth the money he is being paid. I can live with Dak as a top 10-12 QB, you can win a SB with a bus driver that makes a couple of big plays a game. But he has to protect the ball and there has to be a great defense, special teams and running game to make up the difference. And Dak must be willing to reduce his salary if he's not elite.

I don't know. How many teams haven't won a division playoff game in 30 years? That's where we're at.

Sorry to correct you Coach but Chargers have seen a Super Bowl . 1994

The only current NFL teams without a SB appearance are Cleveland , Detroit , Houston and Jacksonville.
The Browns came close to getting there following the 1986 and 1987 seasons ( "The Drive, "The "Fumble").
1991 Lions were smashed in their attempt to make the SB.
And the 2017 Jaguars had doubled the score over their opponent at the start of the 4th qtr - but went conservative on offense, and lost their chance to advance with less than 3 minutes to go.
Texans have yet to make it to a conference title game.

This off-season, I've been trying my hardest to divest myself from all delusions about the Dallas Cowboys. I have even prayed while consulting the Magic 8 Ball, the most sacred sources of all truth.

The hardest truth of all to face: what if the Cowboys do exactly what they have done - make the playoffs but get bounced out again in the divisional round? What if it's against the 49ers?

I so want to make declarative statements and pretend that I have the strength to walk away from the Dallas Cowboys If needed. But the truth is that Jerry Jones and his marketing brilliance is too powerful to resist. I'll somehow get roped into one more season of delusion. Happens every season.

Before this thread gets deleted , are there any other brave souls willing to confess their hopelessness when it comes to the Dallas Cowboys?
If you made it through the Garrett years, I wouldn’t recommend jumping ship now.

But I know how you feel. Been there. It can become maddening. That’s why I despise Jerry Jones with a passion that will never go away.

My plan is to stick it out for the season, but if the usual happens, then I will howl, ***** and moan for a bit and then Jerry will reel me back in. Rinse, repeat.

It seems like every season it’s either do or die for the Cowboys or this will be their year and it never happens. The only way the Cowboys are going to go deep in the playoffs is if Dak has one of his best seasons. Like most teams, the Cowboys are QB dependent. One reason they haven’t reached the Super Bowl in 28 years is because their QB play in the playoffs hasn’t been good enough to overcome some of the teams deficiencies. They’ve had defensive problems in the playoffs and they’ve had issues running the ball consistently, which has put pressure on our QB to have to play their best game for us to win. In the playoffs it usually comes down to your QB anyway.

Why sure!! Jerry reels us all in, even you.
Nah. this year it is all about the young talent.

I guess you can regress and say Jerry brought them in but I am not eager to see Waletzko, Mazi, Ferg, Schoon, Tolbert, Williams, Overshown, Clark, etc because of Jerry.
