The OP was about the current coaching and the efffects of injuries. The past 18 years is a different issue.

Many of the past issues have improved since Garrett has been the HC.

Garrett has managed to keep Jerry from making a Joey Galloway or Roy Williams type trade which is something that Wade and Campo couldn't accomplish. Parcells' demand for media attention caused Jerry to sign TO to bring the attention back to Jerry. That has not happened during Garrett's tenure.

The drafting has improved under Garrett as compared to the Wade years.

It's impossible to evaluate Kiffin and the defensive coaches due to the injuries. The offense was better in past years without Callahan involved in the playcalling so it's hard to put too much blame on Garrett in that area.

As if Roy Williams was brought in for Wade's offense....

The injuries are an excuse. Last time I checked Foles was the backup, correct?

No Vick is a poor QB and Foles beat him out and it a starting QB. Last time I looked Vick is healthy but still standing on the sidelines. Injury do impact teams claiming that it is an excuse I will not go that far but yes injury can clearly have a major impact on a team. Having one DL down is one thing having many go down having 18 DL players coming in and out signing on a Monday and playing on a sunday is hard to overcome. Teams are still expected to go out and win but injuries can and do have a major impact on a team.

That tends to happen when you transition from a 3-4 to a 4-3 and go into the season with:

1. Ware - Guy who was hurt all of last year and has been on the decline
2. Hatcher - Guy who has never really carried the load and is over 30
3. Ratliff - Guy who has been hurt for 2+ years and over 30.
4. Spener- Guy who has had one productive year and is approaching 30.

and you don't draft or develop any young players.

Mo Claiborne draft?

Crawford and Wilber ring a bell?
