Do some fans not even realize how much this franchise has bottomed out?

McClay’s very first draft in 2014 would start a streak of three seasons where his 1st round picks all became All-Pros or Pro Bowlers.

Never talking about facts...but the 30 year calendar. Own up.

McClay’s keen eye for talent resumed in 2016 with the selection of RB Ezekiel Elliott at fourth overall. Elliott’s impact was immediate.

As a rookie, he won the NFL rushing title with 1,631 yards, teaming up with fellow rookie QB Dak Prescott to lead the Cowboys to a 13-3 record and the #1 seed in the conference.

He was selected to three Pro Bowls in his career along with two All-Pro selections, one of them being 1st team.

Two years later in 2018, the Cowboys went to the defensive side of the ball with the selection of LB Leighton Vander Esch at 19th overall from Boise State University...

Jerry needs a GM to get good players?

Or the other 2 funny homer responses...
You must have a miserable personal life if you post criticism.

OR how one chooses to fan here, whether positively or negatively, has any effect whatsoever on the Dallas Cowboys on field performance.

That type of immaturity makes me laugh and keeps this place so entertaining.

Cowboys!
Yeah, they are sorta amusing!!!

That is your insult for that time period. Can't handle more than a one tract mind of insult. Run back to the play ground and get your butt beat around. Can't even attempt a discussion or more than Jerry and 30...and you can't discuss or include topics that include sportsmanship.

You misquote and don't include what is actually posted...

Misquoting in posting, or misquotation, means repeating someone's words incorrectly, often intentionally, to distort their meaning or create a false impression.

Here's a more detailed explanation:
  • Definition:
Misquoting, or misquotation, is the act of quoting someone incorrectly, either by changing their words or taking them out of context.

  • Purpose:
Misquotes can be used to manipulate a situation, create a false impression, or damage someone's reputation.

  • Examples:
    • A journalist deliberately alters a quote to make someone sound foolish or biased.

    • Someone online misquotes a famous person to support a false claim.

    • A politician misquotes an opponent to discredit them.
  • Ethical implications:
Misquoting is unethical and can be harmful to the person being misquoted and to the public who are misled by the misquote.

  • How to deal with being misquoted:
    • Contact the person or organization that misquoted you and ask for a correction or retraction.

    • Share your version of the quote on social media or other platforms to counter the misquote.

A post was made that pointed actual Dallas players that are quality players current taken during the draft process. That is a valid discussion on the number and quality taken for the past 10 seasons. That shows player quality and a direction of current ability and play. This was done by the assembled staff that as a team provides quality that on other teams would reflect in a GM. That job is current and doing well.

The other part that reflects on success is the staff than runs the team on the field and directs play by leadership in the off season and into the season.

This is the first of that off season and to claim full knowledge and evaluation of the team, here and now, is not valid beyond, plain and simply, bias. To label purely on stereotype and misquoting valid elements, is wrong.

If WR Golden and DT Grant were both available at 12, what direction would you chose and why? No crying allowed on this view....FOOTBALL!

After Taco Charlton and now possibly Mazi Smith, quite a few people around Cowboys Nation have soured on the Dallas Cowboys drafting any defensive lineman out of Michigan. However, they currently have a glaring hole at nose tackle unless Mazi suddenly starts living up to his potential as a former first-round pick. As unlikely as selecting another first-round DT is, drafting a dominant one-technique could help transform Dallas' defense.

At 6'3" and over 330 pounds, Kenneth Grant is a massive defensive tackle who is surprisingly athletic for his size. His ability to anchor down against the run is arguably the best in the draft class and his strength, power, and agility helps him collapse the pocket as a pass rusher. Considering Dallas' current dilemma with their last first-round DT selection and other roster "needs" elsewhere, taking Grant at No. 12 would be quite the shocker.

Just a reminder about Smith. This is year three in that man's development. He was first asked to remake his body and his style of play. He was returned to his foundations and told to be the player type he worked through his early adult play as. Bob Lilly wasn't even a defensive tackle in the NFL, until his 3rd season.

Smith's play could just be approaching a team and professional view for integration in a new team defense.

A third alternative:

LT Josh Simmons, Ohio State

The most immediate concern for the Cowboys in regards to their offensive line is who is going to step in and replace Zack Martin at right guard. While they have several in-house options and also added free agent Robert Jones, there's still a belief they could draft another guard to fill the void. But, after watching Tyler Guyton and Terence Steele struggle mightily in 2024 and with little to no depth behind them, tackle may be of higher priority.

Josh Simmons is someone who could be a surprise first-round pick for Dallas. If not for his season-ending knee injury in his last season at Ohio State, there's a very good chance he would've been the first offensive lineman off the board in April. After his medical checkups at the scouting combine, signs point to him being 100% ready for training camp. He could be a plug-and-play LT, allowing Guyton and Steele to battle it out for the starting RT job.

Each day we get closer to the NFL draft in April, and after the moves both the Dallas Cowboys have made and other teams throughout the league have done, the Cowboys draft board looks a lot different now than it did two months ago.

The Cowboys have signed some depth players, and a few are probably going to be needed to start in 2025.

Most notably on the defensive side, they added Dante Fowler, who is coming off a 10-sack season with Washington. He comes back to the Cowboys as probably the best signing they have made thus far.

They also added Soloman Thomas and Payton Turner to add to the defensive line. They resigned Osa Odighizuwa, but have they done enough to make us not worry about it heading into the new season?

Kelvin Banks jr, is the name that I keep seeing as someone the Cowboys could look to take if they go offensive lineman with the first round pick.

Banks has a good build to play either inside or outside, and enough length (33½ inches) that helps him compensate for any misblows.

His combination of quickness and strength, along with having 40 games under his belt when he enters the NFL, gives Banks the profile of a high-quality offensive line prospect who can hit the ground running as a professional.

Being able to protect the quarterback as we sit today on March 21st is a bigger problem and if the Cowboys don’t get that figured out they will be in trouble again in 2025.

Defensive Tackle
Offensive Tackle
Wide Receiver
Running Back

Cap use can change immediate view and allow more change to come into view for team strengths.

The most immediate effect for now and future, is at offensive tackle. Make it a full competition to start at offensive tackle now. Then get a running back next.

Use current cap to now compliment Lamb.

Protect the quarterback, get a defensive tackle, and come away with a running back via the upcoming draft.

Yeah, they are sorta amusing!!!
Humor is being an internet Romeo loving insult instead of being a fan...

This professional football hasn't changed except for skill levels...since Murchison purchased the team.

So the skepticism from fans is warranted as Campbell doesn't seem to fit as a No. 2, but that doesn't mean head coach/play-caller Brian Schottenheimer doesn't have plans for him.

"It's rare to have a head coach calling you, so that stood out to me," Campbell said via dallascowboys.com. "I think the big thing is the speed that I bring. I was talking to coach [Brian] Schottenheimer and [offensive coordinator Klayton Adams], and some of the stuff they're trying to add this year to the offense definitely suits my abilities — like runaways and crossers, speed routes."

So it is clear that the Cowboys have a plan for Campbell, but it is also clear that the franchise is still looking for a genuine No. 2 receiver to play alongside CeeDee Lamb.

We say last season with Royce Freeman, who was signed and then released, so the same fate might await Campbell if training camp doesn't go the way he wants.

But he does bring speed, and outside of KaVontae Turpin and Lamb last season (Brandin Cooks was injured for a large portion), Dallas didn't have anyone to stretch the field consistently.

Based on his comments, that feels like Campbell in 2025, and while the signing can be seen as a so-so one, it is clear that the Cowboys have a plan for Parris.

And it involves speed.
