Do the Cowboys really have the best Oline in football?

So I was looking at PFF at lunch time, just killing time. and couldn't help but notice that the Browns have 3 better players at the same positions in which the Boys are known to be great at. For example.
Alex Mack is rated the number one center, where Frederick is rated at 3.
Joel Bitonio is rated higher then Zack Martin by one spot.
And Joe Thomas is ranked #1 and Smith at number 4.
So is Ronald Leary and Doug Free that much better than the Browns other two starters?
Or does the fact that we have a great QB in Romo, in turn takes some of the pressure off the Line; come into play here? Wheres as Cleveland is lacking in that position.
Just curious what you guys think?
Does Dallas tie with the Browns or do you think pound for pound, the Browns have the better line?

It's sad how bad Cleveland manages to be when they have a lot of good players. Top 2 O-line in the league, maybe the best WR in the league when he's not suspended for doing drugs, really good D-line and secondary... then they give the ship to Johnny Football and watch it all sink.

Well, I'll put it this way:
I wouldn't trade Frederick for Mack.
Without a doubt, I would not even consider trading Zach Martin for Bitonio.
And I wouldn't trade Tyron Smith for Joe Thomas.

Cowboys OL>>>>>>Bengals OL >>>>> Browns OL

The Cowboys offensive line dictated games for a 12 win team and made a very poor defense statisticaly middle of the road. Were they perfect, no. But I will take real results over metrics any day

I think that Dallas asks their guards to do more than Cleveland does their's. ie get upfield more and blocking on the second level.

I don't think that Bitonio is anywhere near the player in space that Martin is.

That is just me from watching what little I did of the Browns last year, so I could be wrong.

Joe Thomas is slightly superior to Tyron Smith for right now. I think by the time their careers are finished, that Smith will have been the better player.

Taking their age into consideration, I would take Smith for sure if I could have either.

IMO, Frederick is a fair bit better than Mack though. Mack might be a tad better in pass protection but I'm not even sure about that. Frederick is the superior run blocker and it isn't that close. Need one of them to stop a NT bull rush one-on-one? Take Frederick all day, every day.

The Cowboys will take a big step back at RT compared to the dominance they had there for 7 games last season.

Depends on the criteria you use. Really it's just splitting hairs.

I think two things. First, PFF, pfft. Second, our pass blocking is generally a bit overrated. Still a very good OL, overall, but I think it's more the Cowboys' OL history, the fact that we went OL 3 times in the 1st round in 3 years, and our run blocking effectiveness that give us a bit of the hype we get on the OL.

I agree but with the depth, the youth and Collins, we have a lot more room to improve than any of the other top OL's. I realize it's potential but it's very promising potential. I would give it a high chance of being the very best, if not this year certainly next. :)

How many first round QB's have gone to Cleveland and fell flat? I often wonder if they missed that man times, or if the organization is just so bad it's like the QB's are doomed before the commish reaches the podium!

Terrible TERRIBLE pass protection.

Not to take away from the great protection on those plays, but whoever NBC was using on stopping those clocks should be fired. Both times they stopped it when the ball was caught, and not when it was thrown. It added almost 2 seconds to the TD.

In all fairness, it's not like Tim Couch, Brandon Weeden or Johnny Manziel have had any success any where else.

I don't think it fair to take a few examples out of 476 attempts last year to extoll the virtues of our pass protection. Our own coaches have talked about the new for some to step it up and others to shore up their technique, etc. OTOH, some I've seen here were fun to watch and shows we can be extremely good.

We'll be better this year.

Due to the way the Cowboys use the tight end, that position should be part of the equation. Advantage: Dallas

I agree that Cleveland has a great oline. But I just don't see it as its better than Dallas. The writer

You lost me at "then" - hard to trust breakdowns from folks who write like that
