Do the Cowboys really have the best Oline in football?

Browns have an older offensive line, and are probably a bit better at pass blocking than our line.

We have time on our hands though and skill position players who are worth something.

Cleveland was actually on the verge of becoming a good team for a second. Constant mistakes at drafting quarterbacks and running backs haven't helped them though.

I was thinking that too. They have a really good Defense and nice tools to work with on the O. If they could just find a qb they be a dammed
You lost me at "then" - hard to trust breakdowns from folks who write like that
sorry for a grammatical error I didn't realize I would graded. I also wasn't really breaking down anything. Just regurgitating what I read and a few observations. But thanks for the valuable input to the thread

Best offensive line in football don't give up 10 sacks in two playoff games. They are very good. More than good enough to lead us back to Lombardi!

In turn, the best Wr in football doesn't catch only six passes in two playoff games. Great goal line threat, big play guy, ho hum from 20 to 20. Good enough to win a SB with? Not if the run game goes in the toilet and the offense has to rely on him to beat sophisticated coverages ala Antonio Brown. That will lead to lots of sideline blow-ups and maybe a few locker room skirmishes, because he ain't gone take the blame for his lack of ability at beating coverages. No, he's going to blame everybody else, and totally wreck our season.

They've been solid when it comes to picking up 4 rushers, which is good, but when it comes to picking up the blitz I feel as though they've left a lot to be desired.

It would also help us if we had more speed at receiver. I think Cole Beasley can really help this offensive line out this year. The development by our receivers in general should make things much nicer.

It sucks that Leary probably isn't going to be here long term, but I'd rather see us draft another tackle high, or see if Green is a suitable replacement for Free in the future than to move Martin or Collins to tackle at this point. That;s say a lot as I really wanted Collins to play at Tackle, so that we could keep Leary.

I wish fans would recognize the mistakes that Cleveland has made in asking for us to draft a replacement for Romo already.

That player doesn't help you right now, and may never help you, whereas drafting basically anyone else has the potential to help you right away or at least during Romo's remaining years.

Johnny Manziel
Brandon Weeden
Colt McCoy
Brady Quinn
Charlie Frye (3rd round)
Tim Couch

That's just since 1999. 5 first round draft picks and 1 third round draft pick wasted on trying to find a quarterback before putting a team together first.

They're really good at run blocking, but the pass blocking leaves a lot to be desired.

Terrible TERRIBLE pass protection.

Against a standard four man rush. Blitz pickups are an issue. Washington ran twists and stunts in the first game and they couldn't deal with it. Top two or three overall, but not the Great Wall yet.

I am reminded so many times when arguments break out that this is a team sport.

And it is.

Why doesn't the guy with the fastest car at the Indy 500 win every year? Because like football, that is a team sport (I hesitate suggesting it is a sport) and they win as a team. Each man does his job, and it is the effort of all that make it possible for the team to succeed.

Rankings are for the second place and below who have to justify something. In the case of football teams, it's for the ones who didn't win the Super Bowl. A way to assuage the sting of losing.

But this unit played well as a team last year. One could surmise it will be better this year because of playing together. Not a given.

Where they rank is subjective. What they do when the lights come on is all that matters.

yep. Somewhere in the top 3 based on last season. Obviously Ceveland.....and I'd include Philly when completely healthy but they've lost both Mathis and Herremans, so we'll see this year. GB is also pretty good especially inside.

It's always nice to think you might have the best OL in pro football but as long as they're better than the team that's opposite them on Sunday, I'll be just as happy as a pig in poop.
