Do the Rams crash and burn for several years now?

The Rams wheeled and dealed to get players that can win the Super Bowl right away, and that worked. However, did that mortgage their future in a way that makes them crash and burn? Will they be hamstrung for a while?
No that's the cowboys your thinking of.

With the current roster and the HC, i don't see them crashing as if they won't be in playoffs anymore.
But as far as keep advancing to the SB game, as Montana's Niners, Jimmie's Cowboys or Brady's Pats ..due to the trend and history i don't see the Rams being right back in repeated SB's.

Why ? , ... but the rare Brady legend aside, it's just so super rare, for teams being right back in the SB,. much less winning it.
Think about the all time NFL passers - ala Rodgers, Brees, ..they only have one SB ring for all those years in NFL ..and you have those
that were in one SB ( Marino) ..and those never in a SB game (Fouts, Moon) .. and we're not gonna re-live those eras in this day and age.

The trophy the Rams got will most likely the last they get in this era,... but because its' just incredibly rare and difficult for non Brady SB teams, to
get to the big game and win it, ..it paid off with all the extreme team manuevers.

They’ll pay Stafford and Donald and make do.. Odell is probably gone. I would assume Von Miller might be gone to, he got another ring unless he takes a bargain home town discount. I mean California is a nice place I like Denver this time of year.

I say they compete for as long as Stafford is there. But they won’t be back to back sb champs, to much had to go right to repeat.

Exactly!!! Since our last super bowl, the Rams - not exactly a flagship organization - were able to build a team that went to two Superbowls, winning one and had a nice run, then they were down for a bit and then rebuilt their team and so far have been to two Superbowls winning one.

I would GLADLY have a few down years if we could average two Superbowl appearances per decade with one championship per decade. Who wouldn't? Well, I guess Jerry.
You say that as if building through the draft is the wrong way to go about it. I like that the Jones boys say they like their guys but they don't always like their guys enough to keep them all the time and so they have botched building a team that can sustain a winning culture. If they had the discipline to actually practice what they preach they would have a great deal more success at winning Super Bowls. And so we have the Rams that follow a different philosophy and just won it all. It makes it seem like a better way.

It is a good OP discussion topic. My re-worded version is one I pose to my best friend who is a Giants fan.

Outside of their fluke 2016 playoff year they are close to the worst franchise in the NFL since 2012. Bottom 3 for sure.

So....in the Giants case "was it worth sucking for the last decade based on having won 2 trophies in a 4 year span before the suckage started?"

Individual opinions would vary I suppose. He is okay with it but does struggle at times these days for how far they have fallen off since being a champion.

The Cowboys are on year 26 I jokingly remind him when comparing notes.

So I guess my opinion would be like his in that I could handle that long term suckage for 2 more trophies. Probably for even one more.

And it don't hurt when looking back that both his team's victories were over the Hoodie/Goat combo to help dull his current day pain I'm sure.

If we can mortgage our future to win that be great, because 25 years we haven't won anything.
