Do we have more confidence going to Houston now?

the new uber weapon, swaim, will contribute greatly to a victory over the texans.
I dunno, Gathers was actually in for a play last week, he's getting oh so much closer to greatness.

I don't think players care about that anymore. You won't see any Harvey Martin types throwing wreaths into the opposing teams locker rooms. I think the bulletin board thing has died out.
just referring to the player
I imagine he takes the game personally since the Cowboys snubbed him and he basically said as much

If this is an 8-8 team I rather be 3-13. Giants fans are already looking to tank for the top college qb.

In reality, yes, but the narrative will be we haven't beat anybody. Leading up to the game, we hear how great the opponent is. After we win, we hear how much they suck.
Kinda like the entire 2016 season.

After we started winning, each new game would be declared “the real test.”

But after each win, the beaten opponent would then be immediately dismissed as “they weren’t that good to begin with.”

Greg, you didn't define "we" in your headline. "We" as in the fans or "we" as in the players? I can't speak for them and can only speak for one fan but no, I do not feel more confident in this team going to HOU or for the rest of the season.

Win the next two and I will begin to fill that glass but for now, it's still 3/4 empty.

Well hell, Geno, how could they be that good if the Cowboys beat them? We just get lucky catching teams when they've decided to tank.

one plus is Deshaun is not Stafford so he will not most like be throwing dimes to his receivers like Stafford was.

I don't see that squeeking out a 2 point win is much of a confidence booster.

Exactly right.

I'm happy with the win certainly, but the team was fortunate to have won that game. A lot of things had to go right for that outcome to occur. And this offense has built up quite a bit of 'bad equity' with me, so it will take several quality performances to change my opinion rather than just one game.

I'm hopeful it's the start of something but I'll wait and see.

Id like to think so. We avoided going 1-3 with our biggest outburst offensively this year.

In the NFL your often only as good as the last game. Good news is we face another 1-3 team Sunday. One which avoided starting 0-4. And looking to save their season.

How big is this week for us with Jaguars looming next week? A loss to Houston and we will be facing potentially 2-4.

It’s nice to enjoy our win but the pressure continues if we are intent staying in the race.

I think we’d all be feeling much better at 3-2 and worse case scenario of 3-3.
A smidgen more but, with this coaching staff, anything is possible. Until we break the pattern of looking like world beaters one week and egg beaters the next, I'll be very cautious about this season in general.

I haven't seen that "world beater" one recently.

Who is "we"? I feel exactly the same as ever about this year's version as I have all along. 5-7 wins. And yes, that assumes a few injuries, because this is the NFL.

The real question is do we go over/under 6 interceptions? 3 is the all-time record, so that's unlikely to break. That was 1982 though. 5 is mark since then, in 2005 by the Raiders, so we have shot at that.

My confidence is at .5000000000

Like 'The Garrett Era' demands .

Playoffs ? no confidence at all .

Gonna be a tough game. Houston will be desperate and at home, with a pressure defense to make things tough on Dak and gimpy Zeke. Can our defense step up and play better? I see a low scoring, defensive slugfest. Would love to see them gut out a tough road win-- but this team's pattern is win one, lose one-- so we'll see. Not confident in their ability ability to be consistent yet.

Yes, I attended a Cowboys game there a few years ago. Houston has always hated us because we have not only a more successful franchise history but more popular.

Texan fanbase is basically only in Houston immediate area.
I think a number of older fans in Texas may be like me. I'm old enough that I grew up in Texas as a football fan when Dallas was new to the NFL and the Oilers/Texans didn't exist yet...nor did the Texas Rangers...hence my Cowboys/Astros fandom) I was born in north Texas (Denton), but spent my teen years in the Houston/Galveston area. Naturally, my first (and only) team was the Cowboys even though I spent my formative years in Houston.

Good question .. I often use” we” as the franchise but in this case I was thinking of the fans.

I was curious of other fans pulse on our team.
Did this win and our performance provide them more confidence going into Houston?

For me I’d have to say I have more confidence than I did before our performance and win against Lions.
