Do we make this mistake again?

Where were you when Romo, Dez and Witten were getting overpaid?

Where were you last year when Zeke and D-Law were overpaid?

Where were you when our Oline has been overpaid?
I know where you were not when people were put in place to manage the Cowboy's money and talent. You act like it is your job to put the Cowboys under budget. It's quite funny to see you harp at the spending the Cowboys might do. I appreciate your passion.

What's funny is you not understanding my point in the matter.

I understand you equate how well teams perform to QB worthiness when nothing could be further from the truth. Did Nick Foles become a top-ranked QB when he won a SB? Hell no. It is possible to be a great QB on a bad team which is where Dak is. That's why you need to pay more attention to pure QB stats and less to team stats when evaluating a QB. I'm done arguing with you. I'm putting you on ignore, BYE.

Dak is grossly about to be overpaid in a move that is going to doom this team for years
I can't take this any more. Signing Dak IS NOT going to doom this team.

The overall percentage of the salary cap that will make up his deal will decrease each year as the salary cap goes up.

Do people really think Stephen would intentionally wreck this teams future by signing Dak???

It's getting late now as the deadlines appear on our horizon about signing or tagging Dak and Amari.

Lets remember why all of this happened in the first place.

Tony Romo.

The OL rebuild was supposed to help Romo.

Drafting Zeke was to replace Murray leaving and no running game.

To help Romo. To be Romo Friendly.

Dak was not drafted to take over. He was just supposed to be a project behind Romo as a safety net.

Now here we are,. Romo has got his dream TV job leaving him plenty of time for golf..

Dak is grossly about to be overpaid in a move that is going to doom this team for years if he fails or gets hurt and can't play well enough..

because of Dak needing to have a posse of people around him who are All Pros..

we can't afford a defense at all.

It been like the Keystone Cops in Dallas.

And we keep making the same old mistakes with this team..

we get a low cost QB and we want to go to the SB with him by overpaying for him to get there thinking if we just pay him enough..

and wait long enough..

It will all work.

Failures have now caused a complete coaching change to be made and Garrett was made the sacrificial lamb along with all the coaches.

Quite a blood letting to beDak Friendly.

Now Dak has stopped being Cowboy Friendly and wants to be paid the most in the league to be our leader.

Doesn''t anybody see this problem clearly?

The timing of signing Dak and Amari to these contracts are all out of order.

You pay players for performance AFTER you receive services rendered.

Not before.

Mahomes is the best there is right now.

He gets paid AFTER he wins a SB.

Not before.

Brady?

Same thing.

But the Cowboys?

Nope.

We like Dak.

We will overpay Dak becuz Dak has suffered with us and been underpaid for two losing runs into the playoffs.

OMG.

Somebody pour some coffee down the gullets of the Jones and sober them up.

We are about to completely lose this team to their decisions of wanting to make a bad business platform work.

It will not strike oil,Jerrah the WildCat man.

I have one suggestion for Jerrah.

Stop applying oil philosophy to sports.

All these guys get paid on potential. The secret is paying the right guys. If you think Dak is not the guy I agree with you.
It's very simple, can we find a replacement level player at a third of the cost.
I am all about signing Keenum, and paying Cooper, Jones, signing a TE, DT, Safety, etc.
Jones doesnt trust himself to find another QB, and fear will get the best of him. There is only one way the Dak signing is worth it....
if we win a SB.
You hired a competent coach after years of idiots. Trust your Front office & Coaches to get another Dak.
Little secret for you guys, we are not winning the SB with Dak next year. I just don't see it.
Let him go out and find someone to pay him, and get some value. The Cowboys have gotten a pro bowl caliber QB with ~ 4 million dollar investment. He is not worth it to pay 36 million a year, I don't care what QB salaries are.
Don't pay a guy that money when you know you will instantly regret it.
Get Keenum, redhead from the Bengals, if TB doesn't sign Winston maybe we can try to get him on the cheap.
The world will not end if we let Dak go. Sometimes you have to save yourself from making a big mistake.

Stop the dramatics, every qb has and will be overpaid. Thats the top spot. The market is what it is. The Lions screwed that over yrs ago with Staffords deal. IDK why cowboy fans are trying to make this about Dak and Jerry. Dak has clearly outplayed Wince, and Goff and theyre making 30+mil AAV so i understand why his agent is asking for more than what they make.

And it seems to me that some of you have no clue how much this new CBA deal is going to explode the cap. Another game, and a new TV deal. Fans are short sighted and dont pay attention or are too lazy to read about whats about to happen.
I think all of us are learning.

Frankly, as a fan of over 50 years..

digging around under the hood to figure out the FA concepts or the Cap concepts just dulled my enjoyment of the game.

As an analogy, as a kid back in the 60s, one day for my birthday my Dad gives me a small transistor radio with an earplug.

I loved it to death and was never without it. But one day it stopped working. It wasn't dead batteries. So I proceeded to disassemble the radio to look at it.

I could not get it back together and threw it away.

Moral of the story..

If you do not understand something, leave it alone and move on.

I know the extra game is going to make the league better, the money means a new sports car for the players..

but am not going to disect it all.

I just want us to win.

Who is arguing about Dak's QB stats? You probably have me confused with someone else. No worries. Glad you're putting me on ignore. I have no respect for someone who uses their "veteranship" to try to win a debate.

If McCarthy did not think Dak was the future, he either would have told Jerry - as he has no aligence to him. Or simply not taken the job.
The FO problem is they have drawn this process out, and in doing so have given Dak the leverage. Pay the man and let's move on !

Dak is getting paid exactly what he deserves. It actually makes it that much more satisfying knowing that guys like you will be stung by that.

Its not what Dak needs, its what the team needs to get to the SB. Franchise QB about to enter his prime is already checked off. Garrett getting fired and getting a real HC is checked off.

Now we just need to fix the defense and special teams.

Yawn.

Redball Express hates Dak and doesn't want the Cowboys to sign him. What else is new?

I think your mother and mine are the same.

Did your mom wear a black mask like the Lone Ranger?

Or was Tonto your daddy?

We think alike.

Cudos.

Everybody here has a pet cat.

Dak I liked when he first came and wanted to believe he was going to right the ship.

Now after watching a good body of his work with some very capable teams..

I am not going there anymore.

If we have 3 more years like the last 3..

he will be gone and we will be eating his cap hit for 2 more years after he is gone.

I say speed up time, don't sign Dak and let's draft or trade for a QB who has won something in the NFL.

Amari is fine. He just needs some 5 Hour Sports Drink at our away games so he can wakeup and play.

Brother from another mother!!!
Dare Dak to find someone who will pay him 33 per year. His agents are plain stupid.
Last off-season I was saying I would be comfortable giving Dak a Nick Foles type contract. 23 per season and of course I got berated.. you can probably find the thread.
I just wish this time the Cowboys would zig while the rest of the league is zagging.

I agree. Another little secret. If we get rid of Dak, we also aren't winning the SB with his replacement.

Yes brother.

You knew best.

You always did.

You were always mom's favorite.

We all have favorite players, I get that. We also have whipping boys. I get that, too. My problem with your obsession with Dak is that you've made your point, you don't like him.

Rather than consume yourself with your dislike for Dak, take a break from posting Dak threads and let things play out; you may be surprised with the results. You're a good poster, Redball, don't let this Dak-hate detour you from your passion for the Boys.
