Do we "need" another L to prep us for the playoff run?

There's a certain contingent out there that thinks we need to learn how to lose and get slapped back to reality in order to be grounded and made ready for the playoffs.

I'm of the opinion that riding this wave right into a Super Bowl appearance wouldn't be too bad at all. Your thoughts?

If we keep racking up injuries in our secondary, it wont be long before we start getting more losses.

We probably lose 1 of the next 2 if I was a betting man................if we beat both Minny and the Giants, I don't see anybody catching us for homefield barring a major collapse.

The next loss we need is in the 2017 preseason. This team isn't all big-headed and full of itself. There is a ton of humility, accountability, sacrifice, and brotherhood in that locker room and on the field. They don't need a loss to get their minds right. They simply need their secondary to get healthy, so they can get back to creating turnovers and keeping teams under 20 pts.

No, a loss is not a good thing ever. Keep on winning.

ESPN said if we beat Vikings, GB beats Philly, and Seattle beat TB, we clinch a playoff spot.
However, we want TB to win to help with HFA. Worry about clinching later.
However 2 wins by us over the Vikings and the Giants, may clinch us the division as well. Or at worse case we would be tied with NY.

Tied with NY at 12-4, 4-2 in division, then it is common games before conference which we would still be tied there any at 8-4....again that is worse case scenario IF we win the next 2.
I will need to look to see who won what games in common games.

No, this is something people like to tell themselves, but it isn't real. Only a weak minded team and weak minded players would need to lose to demotivate them. One thing I give Garrett a lot of credit for is pushing this team to understand that they haven't won anything yet.

Yep. Same here.

Really doesn't matter anymore if they win out or lose a couple on the way to the playoffs in terms of momentum.. this is December football, if you're not focused now on the goal, 1 loss here or there isn't going to make a difference.

What matters is HFA and how that first round bye is used. If the players are off to Cabo, the focus will be lost. If we lose a couple and the goal of HFA is taken away, maybe the focus is lost too soon.

I don't believe Garrett is going to let that mistake happen again. We have come far and are getting too close to the end game to start getting cute with this.

Do you think Alabama is wanting to lose one to tune up for the National Championship? Nope.

Agree.

The notion that we need to lose now in order to win better in the future is silly.

I trust that this team is grounded. Garrett is all about that "one day at a time" thinking.

The only teams who need a loss, are weak-minded, feeble teams, with a loser mentality. Winning teams need to win all the time. Yes, losses happen, but that does not mean that you go out of your way to look for them, or to even play down to the level that will make them more feasible. You play to win, you play to try and dominate, you play to break the will of your opponent.....

besides, losing creates bad mojo...doubts, fears, finger pointing, animosity, loss of chemistry.....it is very divisive. So no, we do not need a loss. Just keep riding this winning wave and take it as far as it will go...........and hopefully we can surf this thing all the way to the beaches of Lombardi Island.

I have thought about this a time or two... I dont think Dak and Zeke will let up regardless though. Good veteran leadership on this team (Witten, Dez, etc...)... I don't see us losing any focus.

We sorta lose in game and then come back to win. Thank our defense for that.

In the meantime, opposing QBs are left bewildered at how they had a career day and lost the game.

We have 5 games left if we win the next 4 we clinch #1 seed in the NFC. So I would not be surprised if we rest players on the last week against the Eagles because we'll have nothing to play for.

However we have some tough games coming up I'm not sure if we go 4-0.

No, we need Mo and Church back and for Marinelli to play man coverage and send some more blitzes, especially on 3rd downs. Then you play to win every game until you have home field wrapped up.
