Do we "need" another L to prep us for the playoff run?

I don't care if we lose A game the rest of the way as long as it isn't to the Giants. If we go 4-1, we have home field advantage throughout.

We probably lose 1 of the next 2 if I was a betting man................if we beat both Minny and the Giants, I don't see anybody catching us for homefield barring a major collapse.

Shut your mouth. Neither is better than the skins team we just beat. I don't see them losing until they rest players in week 17.

No.

All we have to do is for the players to focus on it 1 play at a time and focus on doing what they are supposed to do. And it takes for a coaching staff that plays to win instead of playing not to lose.

That's all of the prep needed.

There's a certain contingent out there that thinks we need to learn how to lose and get slapped back to reality in order to be grounded and made ready for the playoffs.

I'm of the opinion that riding this wave right into a Super Bowl appearance wouldn't be too bad at all. Your thoughts?
No, but we will likely have a loss. The Skins game could have been a loss if just a couple of additional plays or calls by the refs had gone against the Cowboys.

The Giants game is going to be the most critical. The Giants play the Browns Sunday which is an automatic win. That will put them at 8-3 with the tie breaker and the Cowboys at 10-1. If both teams win the following week, then they face each other with the Giants 9-3 and Cowboys 11-1 with the Giants having the tie breaker. A loss by the Cowboys makes it Giants 10-3, Cowboys 11-2 with the Giants having the tie breaker. One additional loss by the Cowboys could make the record win/loss record even but with the tie breaker the Giants would be leading the division.

I prefer "WINNING with a little adversity." I've always believed a coaches best scenario involves winning with a ton of teaching lessons to draw from. Further I think our week one loss gave us plenty.

I hear what you are saying and been thinking about how having that one loss is good.

As long as Dak and this team faces adversity, like they have been doing in just about every game then NO... They don't need a loss necessarily.

Battle testing is in progress.

The next loss we need is in the 2017 preseason. This team isn't all big-headed and full of itself. There is a ton of humility, accountability, sacrifice, and brotherhood in that locker room and on the field. They don't need a loss to get their minds right. They simply need their secondary to get healthy, so they can get back to creating turnovers and keeping teams under 20 pts.

This ^^^, even with all their success I can't imagine them overlooking anybody. The wins have been tough and their schedule doesn't have any cream puffs to overlook. The one thing that could be a concern is mental and emotional fatigue. The media circus, the euphoria, the need to "get up" for another big game week after week after week has to be tiring.

We will beat the gnats. Vengeance will reign supreme during that game.

I think it's the media and fanbase that can't handle either success or failure. I'm gonna enjoy the ride.

well Dak is from the SEC.....week after week..........bama, lsu, ole miss, tenn, florida, a&m, Georgia, so car......so he is used to having to bring it week after week and remain focused. Plus, Dak was the MSU offense. Zeke was a team leader and helped lead his team to a national title. We have a great OL. Witten is a true professional. We have Tony as the best backup QB in the league, and a great mentor for Dak. We have the best K in football. Our D isn't that great, but they aren't that bad either. They have improved in coverage and tackling since the last few years. The health of our DBs is the biggest thing holding this current unit back.....well besides the dopeheaded pass rushers who are currently suspended.

This reminds me of a story.

During the battle of the bulge in WWII, a German commander saw a metal tin laying next to a dead American GI. He opened the tin. And inside, was fresh Christmas cake.

He called over his officers. And said, "Take a good look at this. This is fresh cake shipped all the way from the United States. Just so this private could have fresh cake from his family for the holidays. We have to completely annihilate this Army in front of us. Because, they have absolutely no concept of losing."

Of course, the Americans went on to beat back the Germans and win the war.

So you tell me. Does losing help you win later on? Probably not.

Sounds like BS to me.

I can see where people are coming from with this but I'm of the belief that if you're winning you keep grinding your *** off and keep winning. It should be important to you, and focus you, on continuing to pile up W's. Especially when you're piling up the amount of wins in a row that no Dallas Cowboys team before you has ever done in a single season.

They can learn from losses in next years Preseason. Right now they need to continue to win and win and win.

I don't think we necessarily need a loss or anything to make sure the guys don't let this success get into their heads. This team seems focused and ready to play pretty much every week and that's a testament to both the players and the coaches. Assuming we get past Minnesota, that Giants game is going to have huge implications. If the Giants win their next two, then it's a must win game for us because if we lose, then we can't afford another loss because of the tiebreaker belonging to the Giants. However, if NY falls to the Steelers and we beat the Vikings, then we have a chance to clinch the division with a win. Either way, that game will decide how the rest of our season unfolds.

No. If you've been paying attention to Jason Garrett teams the last 5 years while they may be out talented they are never put worked. They play hard regardless of the situation. And he plays them general all 16 games to win.

If we lose in the playoffs it won't be because we didn't lose a game in the regular season.

I don't think we need another loss. We have enough flaws, humble players, and rookies leading the team. I think our players understand this moment and how important everything is. They came off a 4-12 season. They are not taking it for granted. They prepare well, and they are executing when called upon.

The argument is that other teams went 15-1 and lost. But this is a unique team, and making history in each game. I see no reason why this can't extend to the Super Bowl.

I could see a scenario that causes us to rest players in that last game against the Eagles and taking the L there.
That would be the only way I would want a loss and even then I still want the win
Losing is never a good thing
It will be interesting seeing who they would rest. If you rest the oline do you want romo in there? Zeke would be obvious, and anyone dinged up

Yep. Same here.

While I agree for the most part and want them to win every game, if they happen to lose, I do feel that will motivate them even more. Like parcels said, winning is the best deodorant, and I'm sure it's easier to overlook certain things when you keep piling up wins. Team seems like it has the perfect mix of hunger, discipline, humility and swagger that it shouldn't be an issue though.

The only game I absolutely hope they don't lose is to the Giants though.

Our next loss should be in pre-season and not before. :D

I believe this franchise, this organization, need no further experience when it comes to losing games. That includes the players, it certainly includes the coaches.

What is to be learned, that it sucks?

what does anyone expect to improve by losing a game? Focus? Please! You don't maintain a ten game winning streak by losing focus.

In my opinion, and it is only my opinion, I believe the Cowboys could benefit from the experience of winning a Super Bowl.

It has been quite a long time since the Cowboys have won a Super Bowl and I doubt that it is fresh on the minds of any player, coach, or executive. The Cowboys could really benefit from the experiences. You know, standing on the stage, holding the trophy, extended interviews and accolades, an appearance at the White House.....

Yes, winning the Super Bowl while riding a 17 game winning streak, two playoffs included, would be most educational.

Again, this is only my opinion, I don't consider myself an expert
