I am to the point as I don’t care if they play or not.
What will 8 to 10 plays or a bit more get them anyway? They get more reps in practice. And especially when they go to closed practices. Where they practice the real stuff. Not the generic vanilla crap in PS games.
So they don’t get hit in real speed from a real game. They know what it is like to hit and get hit.

So... question... on pre-season week 1. A probable future hall of gamer QB Lawrence played. I am wondering why our "TOP 5, ELITE, QB1 DAK" did not play? is these type of things that make this franchise a jOKE.

Just as he got signed by the PATRIOTS Zeke had a sober serious decent look.
This Cowboys organization is a circus and as long as we are a circus nothing will ever change
Lawrence is a probable future HOFer? when did this happen? why didn't anybody message me and tell me. what the heck is going on around here.

Dak is not Top 5...so quit whining.

The guys that touch the ball dont get hit in practice. WRs, RBs Return guys.
And we saw two fumbles last week. I think its good for all of them to get some actual game contact. Remember, we didnt scrimmage another team this year like we have in the past. Those are supposed to be controlled, but there is definitely more hitting than a standard practice.

With this new offense, there's no reason the starters can't play one series together.

I wouldn’t mind seeing them for a series, but the problem is if they don’t look very good the temptation would be to leave them in there for another series. With limited rosters and the salaries players are making, it’s just too risky to play starters in preseason these days, especially with a 17 game season

In this day and age, doubt starters will get even a whiff of playing in a PS game....used to be they would try to put them in on the 2nd to last game before the PS ends. Not any more. So no, i don't think they will.

I agree Dak should play 2 series but i think this organization has been gun shy since 16 when Romo went down. Jerry gives the fanbase alot of ammunition although our fanbase is one of the worst
When you think about it, look at the prior year of 2015 when Romo got injured in week 3. That totally derailed that season. I guess it makes some people feel better because the game counted. It didn't make me feel better. Nor did Dak's injury in week 1 of last year. IMO a starting QB just has to play smart in regard to getting hit in preseason. Get that ball out quick, or just throw it away.

Do the Ravens use their starters all damn game in preseason? If there was a preseason champ, it would be them.

McCarthy has played minimal starters in the preseason the last few years and the cowboys have been 12-5.

I personally prefer the starters play in the preseason a little bit, but you can’t argue with the results.
Sure I can. They've gone 0-2 in week 1.

No, I don't think it matters a whole lot but my gut says they should player the starters for a quarter in one of these games.

I wonder if they will let the starters play a few series. Id love to see all of them outside of Pollard and Dak and maybe CeeDee. I might even like to see them although i know they hace said no dak

Why should we waste one play in a meaningless game?

This team's starters are not good enough to "rest" all preseason, and come out sharp & at full-speed on Opening Day.

When you play afraid of getting hurt...that's when you get hurt.

"Rest" during preseason, risk laying an egg against the Giants.

Typically Id agree, but since the first game is a division game, I’d play the starters two series in one of these next two games, probably this one.

I realize the injury risk, but we have seen some bad football in the first few weeks once teams stopped playing starters pretty much entirely in the preseason….league wide.
