Do we sign Adrian Peterson next season? (assuming Murray is gone)

I think it's possible if he gets counseling, which he will probably be req'd to do. He and Randle would make a NICE combo. Hey, I don't want to lose Murray but he's going to want too much money. IF he finishes this season healthy, it would be his first full season in the league. Just too rich considering we have Dez and others to sign. Thoughts?

The only thing about that is he can't be reinstated until Around mid April and Free Agency begins in March. So do you wait around and hope you can get him then? I absolutely think Dallas would be his first choice if he's released by Minnesota and Murray goes to the highest bidder when free agency begins.

keep in mind he is 29, so we're entering that age range that carries a bit of a negative connotation in regards to declining performance

but i think if the contract terms make sense and Murray goes to another team, yes

Not that I like it, or even agree with it, but I'll be shocked if Peterson isn't our starting RB next year.

He refused to seek counseling at the leagues request, which is why he's now suspended for the season. His stance continues to be that he did nothing wrong. Now I would assume if he wants to ever play again, he'll have to at least seek counseling and pretend he made a mistake publicly. But who knows.

I don't know. I agree with the previous poster who questioned if Peterson ever plays again.

Well, he is signed with the Vikings until after the 2017 season, so they have to cut him first.

No question in my mind that he will be in Dallas next year

No question in my mind that he's some sort of factor.

He's either a bargaining chip in any negotiations with Murray, or Murray simply costs too much and the Cowboys sign Peterson on the cheap while he tries to rebuild his career.

If they don't resign Murray, the Cowboys will have several options next year - Peterson, Ingram, Lynch, Spiller, etc.

If we lose Murray and Peterson is available, I fully expect Peterson to be a Cowboy next year.

and if Peterson is asking for a lot? Rusty Harden was not cheap and Peterson on the downhill side is ot looking to rebuild his career he will be looking for a good payday and chances are his last big payday. IMO
