Do you agree with Jerry on the run game?

Really? This is one time where Jerry is actually partially right at the very least. The answer is almost always both. Yes their running back room sucked…so did their offensive line
I think Jerry was right for the most part. But when you think about it, all that time building up the OL, it got us two really good years with the run game.

Building the lines is an every year thing. It’s not ‘let’s just focus on it for 2-3 years and assume it’s going to be fine’ after that…

But yeah…you also then need to have the right coaches to develop them, the skill players to take advantage of it, the scheme, etc

Yes I know that.

I was just answered the question.

Look at you two lolololol

Jerry loves ya'll.

Bahhhh Bahhhhh
He does....and he told me you were a little troll in a basement with no girlfriend...says he spies on you through a little hole in a wall.....I tried to defend you, but he made to much sense....even Stephen agreed..

Our run game improved at the end of the year with Rush at QB. It sucked at the beginning of the year with Dak.
The run game got better after we named Dowdle the starter and Martin went out of the lineup. It had nothing to do with Rush. But whatever.

Yes I think Jerry has a point here but I think it was a combination of line and RB and Solari all of which has been previously mentioned in thread

Now I got to go sanitize my fingers I can’t believe I agreed with skelator and I typed it

It’s probably about 60/40 the OL’s fault. They were a mess last year with Guyton floundering and finally getting benched. Beebe did well but suffered through some rookie times. Martin wasn’t the Martin of old and Steele was more like butter. We also need to remember MM only gives lip service to the running game. It only picked up towards the end of the year because Dak went down and they HAD to focus on the running game and finally gave Dowdle some serious carries. I’m glad we now have a HC that really believes in being able to establish a running game and a more physical team all around.

The run game didn't struggle last year. We just stubbornly tried to make Zeke into the guy we drafted in 2016 instead of starting the season giving Rico the ball 20 times a game.

It was all Jerry’s fault for forcing Zeke on Mike. Once Dowdle started, and Martin rode the bench, it averaged more than anyone in football.
Yes, forcing players onto the team & into the starting lineup. Starting players based on their careers rather than their current ability. Sabotages whatever talent you might otherwise have.

Yep.

He's not stupid.

I don't fully disagree with him on this. You need both to be successful. And by successful, I mean competing for championships. Felt like I needed to quantify that.

Who was the football genius who decided to start rookies at the two most important OL spots?

Who wanted to “see what Ezekiel Elliott could do as RB1” when any casual fan knew he was way cooked?

Who signed the QB whose arm defenses don’t have to respect to a record deal?

It infuriates me how he is able to stand up there, insinuate that it’s not on him, and keep coming back and screwing this up year after year. Can’t wait to see him fall on his face and continue to say stupid things.
